Purpose:\nTo provide technical and troubleshooting support to offshore rigs, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of offshore mechanical equipment and systems.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProvide daily technical support and guidance to offshore rigs under the role's remit on mechanical equipment, maintenance, and operational matters.\nAssist rigs in resolving technical downtime, complex equipment failures, and operational issues by providing troubleshooting and appropriate engineering solutions.\nLiaise with OEMs, vendors, contractors, offshore personnel, clients, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve technical and maintenance-related issues.\nTravel offshore, including worldwide travel at short notice when required, to provide technical support, conduct troubleshooting, problem-solving, inspections, and rig familiarisation visits.\nSupport the planning, coordination, and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including major maintenance, shutdowns, repairs, equipment upgrades, and onshore equipment repairs.\nReview equipment performance, maintenance history, availability, and reliability, and recommend improvement initiatives to minimise equipment downtime and enhance operational efficiency.\nSupport the development, review, and implementation of preventive maintenance programmes, maintenance strategies, technical procedures, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides.\nProvide technical support for offshore minor projects, rig modifications, equipment replacements, upgrades, and other improvement projects, including supporting Project Engineers when required.\nAssist rigs in ensuring compliance with the Technical Management of Change (MOC) procedure and other applicable technical directives, systems, and procedures.\nSupport technical audits and reviews relating to maintenance activities, equipment, and technical procedures.\nAssist with the investigation and root cause analysis of significant equipment failures and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.\nMonitor the reliability and availability of critical mechanical equipment and recommend actions to improve equipment performance and minimise downtime.\nMaintain a good working knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and controls across the Company's rig fleet.\nLead safety by example and actively promote safety awareness and safe working practices among all personnel.\nQualification and Relevant experiences:\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification\nMinimum of 5 years’ relevant experience for the position\nFamiliar with computerised control systems\nExperience on /with Offshore Drill Rigs and Rig equipment and Troubleshooting \nSound knowledge of rotating equipment\nSound knowledge of hydraulic controls and systems\nTrained in Mechanical trade or engineering degree\nGood level of verbal and written communication in English. \nGood computer skills\nFamiliar with computerised control systems\nExperience on /with Offshore Drill Rigs and Rig equipment\nSound knowledge of rotating equipment\nSound knowledge of hydraulic controls and
