The technician ensures chemical processes operate efficiently, product quality requirements are met, and all laboratory and production activities comply with safety and operational standards.\nJob Description\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Chemical Cleaning Operations\nReview and disposition Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMRs).\nPerform or coordinate rework activities.\nInvestigate root causes of defects and process failures.\nReview work orders for correct material processing requirements.\nPrioritize and allocate work orders to operators.\nDetermine electropolishing and electro cleaning process parameters.\nCreate, modify, and upload cleaning recipes for automated systems.\nMonitor process compliance and product quality.\nTroubleshoot chemical, mechanical, and material-related issues.\nPrepare investigation reports and implement corrective actions.\n2. Coating and Plating Operations\nReview coating-related NCMRs and coordinate rework activities.\nVerify plating processes and work order requirements.\nDetermine plating parameters, current density, and processing times.\nConfigure automated plating recipes and lead-coating parameters.\nPrepare and mix plating solutions and specialty chemical baths.\nSupport silver plating, etching, and housing plating processes.\nTroubleshoot coating defects and process deviations.\nGenerate corrective action and process improvement reports.\n3. Final Cleaning Operations\nReview final cleaning process requirements.\nInvestigate contamination-related issues.\nCoordinate cleaning rework activities.\nVerify cleaning effectiveness and process compliance.\nSupport troubleshooting of cleaning equipment and chemicals.\nDocument findings and recommend corrective actions.\n4. Glass Cleaning Operations\nSupport glass cleaning and nitriding processes.\nDetermine required process parameters.\nInvestigate and resolve process failures.\nReview production requirements and assign work priorities.\nMaintain process quality standards.\nPrepare investigation and improvement reports.\n5. Chemical Bath Analysis & Laboratory Activities\nPerform routine chemical analysis of plating and cleaning baths.\nConduct titration, specific gravity, FTIR, and AES analysis.\nMaintain laboratory equipment and consumables.\nPrepare chemical standards, indicators, and calibration solutions.\nRecord analytical results in IQS/MES systems.\nCalculate and recommend bath chemical additions.\nMonitor bath chemistry and process stability.\nSample and analyze chemical baths according to schedules.\nInvestigate unknown chemical contaminants.\nMaintain laboratory housekeeping and 6S standards.\n6. Equipment Maintenance & Calibration\nMaintain and calibrate:XRF Equipment\nProfilometers\nFTIR Systems\nAES Equipment\nUltrasonic Testing Equipment\n\nDevelop automated testing methods when required.\nCreate and maintain instrument files and calibration records.\nVerify equipment performance and compliance.\n7. Process Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement\nInvestigate process deviations and quality issues.\nAnalyze chemical interactions and material compatibility.\nIdentify equipment-related failures.\nEvaluate process performance and recommend improvements.\nSupport corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).\nGenerate technical reports and documentation.\n8. Operator Training & Qualification\nBecome certified on all chemical processes within the department.\nTrain operators on production processes and equipment.\nCertify operators for process competency.\nProvide technical support and guidance to operators.\nConduct work instruction and SOP training.\n9. Safety & Compliance\nEnsure proper use of PPE at all times.\nPromote safe chemical handling practices.\nMonitor compliance with EHS requirements.\nVerify safe storage and segregation of chemicals.\nSupport spill response and incident investigations.\nEnsure compliance with company safety procedures and chemical regulations.\n10. Documentation & Record Management\nMaintain production and laboratory records.\nUpdate bath analysis logs and process reports.\nRecord process parameters in IQS/MES systems.\nDocument chemical additions and process changes.\nPrepare NCMR investigation reports.\nMaintain calibration and training records.\nReview and update SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.\nRequired Skills\nChemical handling and process knowledge.\nSurface treatment and plating operations.\nLaboratory testing and analytical techniques.\nRoot cause analysis and troubleshooting.\nChemical bath requirements.\nPreferred Qualifications\nDiploma/B.Sc./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or related field.\n4+ years of experience in chemical processing, electroplating, surface treatment, or manufacturing operations.\nKnowledge of FTIR, AES, XRF, titration, and laboratory analysis techniques.\nFamiliarity with ISO, quality systems, and chemical process controls.\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nBath analysis compliance (% completed on schedule).\nNCMR closure and corrective action effectiveness.\nProcess yield and defect reduction.\nChemical consumption control.\nSafety compliance and zero-incident performance.\nOperator training and certification completion.\nEquipment calibration and uptime.\nDocumentation accuracy
