The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.\nVast is looking for an Additive Manufacturing Technician, reporting to theSupervisor, Manufacturing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations. You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the additive manufacturing equipment, as well as part post-processing and quality control.\nThis will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location. \nShift:\nSecond Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm\nResponsibilities: \nSetting up additive manufacturing print jobs, verifying machine settings against best practices, overseeing the print process and quality as the machine operates, recover build pauses if necessary \nSafely handling the metal powder before and after the build, includes sieving, loading, part de-powdering, measuring, and safe storage\nKeep a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained work space\nDevelop and implement process efficiency improvement projects\nIndependently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner\nOperate post processing equipment such as drills, handheld grinders and CNC machines as required\nPerform preventive routine maintenance on the machines and troubleshooting manufacturing hardware\nSupport rapid iteration and development testing\nDocument build, test, and maintenance activities\nAdhere to and help refine test processes, safety standards, and best practices\nSupport other teams through cross-functional collaboration and training\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh school degree or equivalency certificate\n1+ years of manufacturing, or similar industry, experience\nComfortable working with hand tools, basic measurement equipment, and following detailed procedures exactly and safely\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\n3+ years experience in additive manufacturing or similar environment\nExcellent communication skills\nAbility to read, interpret and work from drawings, controlled documentation and processes such as: assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts list\nExperience working in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments\nExperience driving engagement with others, taking initiative, and helping push the team to new levels\nExperience with metal powders\nAdditional Requirements:\nWillingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted\nPay Range: California\n$23—$58 USD\nWe calibrate level and compensation to the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated capability.
