The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.\nVast is looking for a Propulsion Test Technician, reporting to the Manager, Propulsion Development Test, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations.\nThis will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Mojave location. \nResponsibilities: \nBuild, maintain and operate rocket thruster test stands, with a focus on high pressure fluid systems.\nPerform install, uninstall and inspections on rocket engine thrusters. \nSupport development, acceptance, qualification, and investigative test campaigns. \nFollow detailed work instructions and test procedures during hazardous operations. \nWork safely in a clean-room environment on high pressure oxygen systems. \nTroubleshoot and perform maintenance on fluid systems, mechanical, and electrical systems.\nWork collaboratively with test engineers and test article responsible engineers from HQ. \nImplement continuous improvements to increase safety and test site productivity. \nMinimum Qualifications:\n5+ years of hands-on technical experience in testing, manufacturing, instrument fitter, industrial maintenance, or a related hands-on field.\nProficient reading and working from mechanical drawings and P&IDs.\nExperience bending and flaring stainless steel tubing. \nExperience building / testing high pressure fluid systems. \nExperience performing pressure proof testing. \nAbility to conduct test operations in the field for an extended period of time.\nAbility to operate heavy machinery (Forklift, All-terrain Forklift, overhead equipment, etc.)\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate.\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\nExperience operating / fabricating high-pressure (6 kpsi) gaseous oxygen systems. \nExperience with precision cleaning and assembly of precision clearned systems. \nExperience rebuilding high pressure valves and regulators. \nAdditional Requirements:\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and work in an outdoor, physically demanding test environment (from freezing conditions to temps up to 120 degrees fahrenheit).\nWillingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones.\nPay Range: \nPropulsion Test Technician I: $22.87 - $32.46 \nPropulsion Test Technician II: $29.37 - $41.69\nPropulsion Test Technician III: $33.36 - $47.35\nSenior Test Technician: $40.10 - $56.92\nPay Range: California\n$22.87—$58.92 USD\nWe calibrate level and compensation to the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated capability.
