At Vast, our mission is to contribute to a future where billions of people are living and thriving in space. \nThis will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. \nShift:\nSecond Shift Hours: 2:00pm - 10:30pm\nResponsibilities: \nOrganize, coordinate, prioritize, and communicate day-to-day development and manufacturing work assignments for a technician team\nLead and demonstrate work and safety culture\nTrain and onboard new team members\nSupport team members in daily tasks\nAssist with optimizing the manufacturing process for avionics systems, considering factors such as efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness\nParticipate in design reviews, providing valuable insights to improve the manufacturability and reliability of avionics components\nCollaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes for avionics manufacturing\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall product quality\nMeet tight production schedules to achieve high production rates while maintaining quality standards and be able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast moving environment\nMaintain laboratory and workshop, including cleanliness, stocking of consumables, tool control, and supporting design and build infrastructure to support above activities\nRead and interpret technical drawings and work instructions in support of above activities\nMinimum Qualifications:\nA minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a technical field, with a strong preference for candidates possessing a background in the aerospace industry\nAt least 3 years of experience in a leadership role, demonstrating proven expertise in guiding and managing teams\nMinimum 3 years of experience performing vibration & shock testing\nProfessional experience in a manufacturing environment working within a quality system such as AS9100, ISO9001, etc.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalency certificate\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\nStrong understanding of setup and operation of vibration testing equipment\nFamiliarity with electrodynamic shakers\nExperience in CAD software (such as Siemens NX) for reviewing designs \nExperience in creating manufacturing documentation (such as Standard Operating Procedures and Work Orders)\nFamiliarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to avionics manufacturing, such as IPC standards \nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis \nStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross- functional teams \nHands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting avionics systems is desirable \nKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus \nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work\nAdditional Requirements:\nWillingness to work overtime or weekends to support critical mission milestones\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted\nPay Range: California\n$96,760—$137,352 USD\nWe calibrate level and compensation to the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated capability.
