Our platform is being built as a large-scale content delivery and service platform with multiple applications and services interacting across cloud infrastructure, external content sources, delivery networks and end-user applications. What is important is strong experience in architecting and building scalable, highly available cloud-native applications and platforms. The person should be comfortable taking business and system requirements, translating them into an architecture, making appropriate technology choices, and working with engineering teams to take the architecture into production.\n\nResponsibilities: \nDefine the overall cloud architecture for the platform.\nDesign scalable, highly available and fault-tolerant services capable of supporting large numbers of users, devices and transactions.\nArchitect cloud-native applications using microservices, APIs, containers and event-driven architectures.\nDefine how different platform components, applications, external systems and third-party services interact.\nDesign APIs and integration patterns for content providers, applications, operational systems and other external platforms.\nArchitect data storage, caching, messaging and processing layers based on performance and scalability requirements.\nDesign for horizontal scaling, load balancing, failover, disaster recovery and multi-region deployment where required.\nDefine appropriate approaches for observability, logging, monitoring and operational diagnostics.\nIncorporate security, authentication, authorisation and data protection into the platform architecture.\nEvaluate cloud services and technology choices based on scalability, reliability, performance, operational complexity and cost.\nWork closely with application, backend, DevOps, security and product teams.\nReview architecture and implementation to ensure that the system continues to meet scalability and reliability objectives as the platform evolves\n\nRequirements: \nStrong hands-on experience architecting and building large-scale cloud-based applications or platforms.\nGood understanding of at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.\nStrong understanding of: Distributed systems, Microservices architecture, REST/gRPC APIs, Containers and Kubernetes, Event-driven and asynchronous architectures, Messaging and streaming platforms, Relational and NoSQL databases, Caching technologies, Load balancing and auto-scaling, High availability and disaster recovery, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD, Cloud security and identity management, Monitoring, logging and observability.\nExperience designing systems for high transaction volumes, large user populations and unpredictable demand.\nAbility to identify architectural bottlenecks and make appropriate performance, scalability and cost trade-offs.\nExperience taking systems from architecture/design through deployment and
