In a Nutshell

We’re looking for an experienced PR and communications leader to join us and lead PR for VaynerX. This role includes managing VaynerX’s corporate communications and building VXPR as an agency offering for brand clients. You must LOVE all things social, and be passionate about the marriage of social and PR can play in building brands and connecting to audiences in an authentic way. This is an always-on role that moves daily and will put you at the epicenter of culture.

Our teams are lean, and you will need to dip down to support the team in a hands-on capacity, but at the same time be able to delegate, making sure the day-to-day is being run smoothly and efficiently in order to deliver industry-leading PR work on a daily basis, on behalf of Vayner and our clients. You will be passionate about the work you do, about the agencies you represent, and in doing so will be at the forefront of strengthening client & industry relationships across the global company.

Think “lab” and not “agency”. We get excited about solving business problems, not creating advertising for the sake of making advertising. Our entrepreneurship DNA runs deep. We’re willing to break rules, try new things, and test hypotheses if it means better understanding our craft. It’s fun!

Our environment (and pace) feels much more like a start-up than most agencies you might be used to. Hopefully that, and the opportunity to collaborate with the talented and enthusiastic crew on amazing brands, excites you, as it does us.

Here’s where you come in.

This is an in-person role based at VXHQ; Hudson Yards in NYC; but you’ll work seamlessly across VaynerX offices. You’ll deliver best-in-class PR strategies; sharpening the narratives of VaynerMedia and other VaynerX entities, while refining the VXPR narrative as an additional service offering for clients. You’ll manage a team of PR professionals, with dotted-line reports in international markets.

On the corporate communications side, you’ll help drive talkability and reputation management for VaynerX companies - focused on the pillars of our philosophies, our work, our people, and our culture. This will include traditional corporate communications responsibilities - award entries, case study development, crisis management, and industry relations.

On the client side, you’ll work closely with the CMO and the VXPR team to service our existing PR business and grow it significantly. With client demand across the globe, and a great team of current practitioners, this role will be responsible for driving new PR business, delivering excellent PR work that complements current Vayner client initiatives, and recruiting/developing a team to take this to the next level.

You will report directly to the Global Chief Marketing Officer.

What You'd Do

Strategy & Communication

  • Drive a clear communications strategy for VaynerX and the companies within it, aligned with Vayner’s philosophies; establish clear messaging, target audiences, and channels for effective communications
  • Develop and execute strategies to build brand reputation, including: proactive external communications; presence at industry events; position executives as innovative industry leaders.
  • Set and measure clear,  meaningful, and consistent KPIs across the VXPR Team
  • Oversee media relations, press releases, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Serve as a primary spokesperson for the company.
  • Drive Executive Communications plans for Vayner executives and B2B clients
  • Lead real-time crisis management and establish a framework for crisis preparedness; proactively identify and address reputational risks and lead responses.
  • Be a trusted advisor and collaborate closely with the CEO, C-Suite and specialist leaders (Creative, Media, Strategy, Production, Platforms, DEI etc..) to maintain a finger on the pulse of the organization to provide strategic counsel and help inform brand communications.

People & Culture

  • Build a cohesive and high-performing team, that is both innovative and accountable, and acts with empathy
  • Embody the VX cultural values and consistently exhibit them through your behavior.
  • Inspire, motivate and mentor the PR team and broader MarComms team, driving a commitment to VM cultural values, and best-in-class social & digital marketing across creative & media disciplines.
  • Drive the career growth of your team, overseeing local L&D programs and talent development paths to ensure we are building future VX leaders from within the team.
  • Build a pipeline of top talent across the PR vertical to enable future growth.

Business Growth

  • Help to grow the VXPR business, developing existing client relationships to include PR services, and uncover new opportunities
