This role requires a strong understanding of SMSF legislation, tax compliance and financial reporting.\nMain duties include:\nSMSF Compliance & Administratio n\nPrepare annual financial statements for SMSFs, including operating statements and member balances. \nComplete and lodge SMSF annual returns (SAR) with the ATO. \nEnsure compliance with the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act (SIS Act) and regulations. \nMaintain accurate fund records, including trust deeds, investment strategies, and minutes. \nMonitor contribution caps, pension requirements, and minimum drawdowns. \nPrepare business activity statements quarterly \nPrepare detailed workpapers to reconcile the SMSF Financial Statements for Audit purposes \nTaxation & Reporting\nPrepare SMSF tax calculations and ensure timely lodgement. \nManage GST, PAYG, and other relevant tax obligations where applicable. \nInvestment & Transaction Processing\nRecord and reconcile investment transactions including shares, property, managed funds, and alternative assets. \nEnsure proper classification and valuation of investments. \nReview and reconcile bank accounts, broker statements, and other financial data. \nRegulatory Updates & Continuous Improvement\nStay up to date with changes in superannuation and tax legislation. \nSuggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance. \nAssist with internal training and knowledge sharing. \nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. \nCA, CPA, or progress towards professional qualification. \nMinimum 2-5 years’ experience in SMSF accounting or public practice. \nStrong knowledge of Australian superannuation legislation and tax law. \nExperience with Class 360 SMSF software. \nExperience with Xero Practice Manager and FYI Docs (not essential) \nHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skills. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills. \nBenefits\nCompetitive salary and performance-based
