Whatever path brought each of us here, what unites us is curiosity, attention to detail, and a commitment to getting it right.\nAbout the role\nThe Production Support Systems Intern supports the team that keeps our production systems stable and available. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will learn how incidents, monitoring alerts, and escalations are handled in a live environment-starting by observing and following runbooks, and gradually taking on more of the triage yourself. You will get hands-on exposure to our AWS-hosted Python/Django/FastAPI backend and React JS frontend, and learn to track incidents via JIRA Service Management while monitoring system health through Sentry and CloudWatch. This is a paid internship with a monthly stipend and structured mentorship, and it offers a clear path to a full-time Production Support Systems Engineer role.\nWhat you'll be doing\nMonitor Sentry and CloudWatch dashboards for errors and anomalies under the guidance of a senior engineer\nPerform first-level triage of alerts and follow documented runbooks for known issues\nCreate and update JIRA Service Management tickets with clear, complete incident details\nEscalate issues to the on-call engineer or Tier 3 with accurate, well-structured summaries\nPrepare shift handoff reports and join the overlap with the wider team\nRead CloudWatch Logs to identify ECS task errors, AWS Batch job failures, and Lambda/API issues\nAssist with restarting failed ECS tasks and retrying Batch jobs, as directed by the senior engineer\nRun start-of-shift and end-of-shift environment health checks and confirm nightly batch jobs have completed\nLearn to tell frontend (React JS) issues from backend API failures using Sentry error traces\nRun basic PostgreSQL/RDS checks and flag slow queries or connection issues to the team\nVerify that nightly backup and data replication jobs completed, and report any failure promptly\nObserve and support scheduled maintenance and deployments, including post-deployment monitoring\nWrite simple Python scripts to automate repetitive checks and parse logs\nDocument incident summaries, resolution steps, and learnings; help update runbooks and SOPs in the knowledge base\nAbout you\nKey requirements:\nWe're looking for someone who is passionate about joining a diverse team and is driven to achieve results through ownership, process optimization, and upstanding character.
