We love what we do, our VECommunity, and helping the best build better.\nOverview\nThe Assistant VDC Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects using Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods and technologies. The role requires collaboration with project managers, engineers, architects, and various stakeholders to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards, while utilizing VDC tools to optimize the design and construction processes.\nWhat You Will Do\nSupport the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects using Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods and technologies.\nCollaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.\nIntegrate VDC tools into workflows to optimize design and construction processes.\nContribute to the ongoing improvement of VDC practices and technologies.\nKey Responsibilities\nVDC Implementation & Support\nAssist in integrating VDC tools to enhance design, planning, and construction workflows.\nProject Coordination\nSupport the management of project timelines, budgets, and resources.\nCoordinate internal teams and subcontractors to ensure progress aligns with goals.\nResponsible for project setup and onboarding.\nData Management\nMaintain accurate, accessible, and up-to-date digital models and VDC data.\nDocumentation\nPrepare and maintain VDC-related reports, meeting minutes, schedules, and change orders.\nQuality Control\nEnsure VDC processes and deliverables meet quality standards and project specifications.\nCollaboration with Project Teams\nWork closely with project managers, design teams, and contractors to use VDC tools for clash detection constructability reviews, and schedule optimization.\nProgress Monitoring\nTrack project progress against the schedule and budget.\nIdentify, report, and support resolution of issues or deviations.\nClient Interaction\nAssist or lead client meetings and presentations on VDC processes and outcomes, depending on project size and complexity.\nContinuous Improvement\nStay current with VDC technologies and construction methodologies.\nContribute to process improvement initiatives.\nProject Acquisition\nAssist VDC Manager with estimates, proposals, baseline coordination schedules, scopes of work, contracts ,and negotiations.\nWhat We're Looking For\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.\nKnowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and delivery methods.\n3+ years of experience in the AEC industry.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\n1-2+ years leading BIM coordination efforts.\nDetail-oriented with excellent organization and documentation capabilities.\nSolid understanding of VDC principles and technologies (e.g., BIM, 3D modeling, simulation).\nAbility to adapt to evolving project demands and meet tight deadlines.\nProficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar tools.\nPreferred: experience in VDC or construction project management.\nFamiliarity with construction project management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore).\nWork Environment\nOffice-based or remote with some site visits as needed.\nCollaborative environment (virtual or in person) with frequent team meetings and project briefings.\nPotential for travel depending on project locations.\nVEC is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
