This is a hands-on position supporting approximately 100+ employees and 350+ endpoints in a primary Windows-based environment with a smaller footprint of Linux systems.\nThe ideal candidate is an experienced IT professional who excels at solving technical problems, working directly with users, and taking end-to-end ownership of issues. This role extends beyond traditional help desk duties to include endpoint administration, cloud productivity suite support, network maintenance, cybersecurity monitoring, and active participation in our federal and industry compliance programs.\n\nLocation: Pleasanton, California (Bay Area)\nRequirements\nWhat You’ll Do\nEndpoint & User Support\nProvide Tier 2/3 technical support primarily for Windows systems, alongside foundational support for Linux environments.\nDeploy, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.\nSupport cloud productivity tools, user account lifecycles, authentication, and access controls.\nMaintain accurate IT documentation, asset management records, and standard operating procedures.\n Identity & Network Infrastructure\nAssist with directory services, central identity management, and group policy administration.\nSupport enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM), Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM), and unified endpoint management platforms.\nTroubleshoot local network infrastructure, including LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, switching, and firewalls.\nAssist with IT infrastructure projects, network deployments, office moves, and technology upgrades.\n Security & Compliance\nAssist with endpoint hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and baseline security configurations.\nSupport enterprise Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.\nAdminister phishing-resistant Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) technologies and hardware security keys.\nAssist with federal and industry cybersecurity compliance programs (e.g., NIST SP 800-171, CMMC) and evidence collection.\nInterface with engineering, manufacturing, and general business teams to ensure secure, compliant operational workflows.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nFormal industry certifications are not required. Relevant certifications and demonstrated technical knowledge will be evaluated as part of your overall qualifications and reflected in total compensation.\nExperience administering enterprise cloud productivity and identity management platforms.\nHands-on exposure to Linux administration and endpoint support.\nFamiliarity with enterprise EDR and SIEM security logging solutions.\nExperience maintaining network switches, firewalls, and wireless access infrastructure.\nFamiliarity with cybersecurity compliance frameworks (such as NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, or DFARS) and handling standards for sensitive data.\nPractical knowledge of phishing-resistant MFA tokens and modern hardware security keys.\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\nA degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent professional experience and demonstrated capabilities will be fully considered.\n 3+ years of professional IT support or systems administration experience in an enterprise environment.\nStrong Windows OS troubleshooting and administration capabilities.\nPractical experience supporting Directory Services (Active Directory) and Group Policy.\nSolid understanding of core networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless protocols).\nHands-on experience with endpoint management, deployment tools, or RMM platforms.\nStrong analytical, communication, documentation, and customer-service skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.\nBenefits\nVector Atomic values teamwork, open and honest discourse, and work-life balance.
