The ideal candidate takes ownership, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and adapts swiftly to evolving demands.\nRole\nThe Compliance Director is responsible for overseeing Veda’s global compliance framework, ensuring that its vault infrastructure and DeFi strategies operate in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. This role focuses on maintaining robust compliance controls across Veda’s products, partnerships, and operations, with an emphasis on custody, data protection, and regulatory requirements.\nThe Compliance Director will report to and work closely with Veda’s General Counsel to ensure the proper policies and procedures are in place to support Veda’s operations and the compliance needs of our partners, address regulatory issues, and help create a culture of integrity and accountability throughout the organization.\nWhat You’ll Do\nRegulatory Compliance & Oversight\nDesign, implement, and maintain Veda’s compliance programs, policies, and procedures covering AML/CFT, sanctions, data security, third party diligence, and more.\n\nMonitor and interpret regulatory developments affecting decentralized finance.\n\nEnsure that Veda’s products and client integrations comply with relevant financial and data protection laws (e.g. GDPR, or equivalent regional frameworks).\n\nManage compliance due diligence for client and partner relationships.\n\nAct as primary compliance contact for regulators, auditors, and enterprise partners.\n\nProgram Execution & Monitoring\nConduct ongoing monitoring and internal reviews to assess compliance with regulatory and operational standards.\n\nLead internal investigations and ensure timely remediation of compliance issues.\n\nMaintain and report compliance metrics to the General Counsel and executive leadership.\n\nCoordinate responses to external audits, certifications, and regulatory examinations.\n\nPolicy & Control Management\nOversee and update compliance documentation, including AML policies, data retention, and information security standards.\n\nSupport risk assessments and control testing to ensure ongoing compliance and operational resilience.\n\nPartner with Product, Security, and Engineering teams to align product design with compliance and privacy-by-design principles.\n\nTraining & Awareness\nDevelop and deliver targeted compliance training programs for staff.\n\nPromote a proactive compliance culture across all levels of the company.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n5+ years of compliance or regulatory experience in fintech, financial services, or crypto.\n\nKnowledge of AML/CFT regulations, data protection laws, and financial regulatory frameworks relevant to crypto and DeFi.\n\nExperience managing compliance programs in regulated or partner-facing environments.\n\nPassion and familiarity for decentralized finance and open-source ecosystems.\n\nProactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment.\n\nWhy Join Us?\nHelp shape the technical foundation of a rapidly growing DeFi ecosystem\n\nWork directly with top-tier fintechs, protocols, and institutional partners\n\nHigh autonomy and ownership in an early-stage, fast-moving team\n\nCompetitive compensation\n\nFully remote and globally distributed\n\nCompensation and Benefits\nYour level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge, skills and direct experience.
