infrastructure monitoring, logging, alerting, automated backups, recovery mechanisms, and capacity planning.\nManage cloud costs, resource utilisation, performance optimisation, and infrastructure scalability.\nDefine infrastructure-as-code practices and automation to improve deployment consistency and operational efficiency.\nEvaluate managed cloud services, containerization, and orchestration technologies where appropriate.\n\nHands-on Development and Technical Oversight: \nMaintain strong technical involvement in system architecture, complex engineering problems, critical code reviews, and production troubleshooting.\nReview and guide backend services, frontend applications, APIs, database queries, and integration code.\nWrite or contribute to production code when required, particularly for critical components, prototypes, integrations, and performance-sensitive systems.\nEstablish clean-code principles, secure coding practices, testing standards, and maintainable software design.\nMentor developers and improve the engineering team's technical capabilities.\nEnsure technical decisions balance delivery speed, quality, security, and long-term maintainability.\n\nDevOps, CI/CD and Software Development Lifecycle: \nOwn the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.\nImplement automated CI/CD pipelines for reliable and repeatable software releases.\nEstablish version control, branching strategies, build automation, code quality checks, and release management processes.\nIntroduce automated testing, including unit, integration, API, regression, and end-to-end testing.\nImplement appropriate containerization and deployment automation using tools such as Docker and, where justified, Kubernetes.\nEstablish rollback strategies, release approvals, environment controls, and production change management.\nReduce deployment failures, release cycle times, downtime, and manual operational effort.\n\nDatabase Design and Systems Integration: \nDesign and manage robust database architectures, data models, indexing strategies, and query optimisation.\nWork with relational and NoSQL databases based on application and workload requirements.\nEstablish data integrity, consistency, backup, archival, retention, and recovery practices.\nDevelop and maintain secure APIs and integrations with financial institutions, payment systems, KYC providers, identity services, and other third-party platforms as applicable.\nDesign reliable integration patterns, including appropriate retry handling, idempotency, reconciliation, and error recovery.\nEnsure financial transactions and business-critical records are processed accurately, consistently, and traceably.\n\nCybersecurity, Data Protection and Risk Management: \nEstablish a security-first approach across application development, infrastructure, databases, and third-party integrations.\nImplement identity and access management, least-privilege access, multifactor authentication, encryption, secrets management, and secure network controls.\nOversee vulnerability management, dependency scanning, penetration testing, security assessments, and remediation.\nDefine secure coding guidelines and ensure security considerations are incorporated throughout the development lifecycle.\nEstablish audit trails, security logging, incident response procedures, and appropriate data access controls.\nWork with compliance, legal, and risk teams to address applicable financial services regulations, cybersecurity requirements, data protection obligations, and audit requirements.\nMaintain appropriate controls for sensitive financial and personal information.\n\nReliability, Business Continuity and Production Support: \nEstablish service availability, performance, reliability, and incident management standards.\nDevelop disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including backup validation and recovery testing.\nDefine and monitor service-level objectives, recovery time objectives (RTO), and recovery point objectives (RPO).\nImplement application and infrastructure observability through centralised logs, metrics, traces, and alerting.\nLead resolution of critical production incidents and conduct root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.\nEstablish support processes for production issues, planned maintenance, capacity expansion, and system upgrades.\n\nFinancial Services Technology: \nUnderstand the
