You will work directly with the Vedantu Early Learning (VEL) business team, understand real business problems, decide how they should be solved, build the solution, deploy it, measure its impact, and continuously improve it.\n\nWe are particularly interested in engineers with a Founding Engineer / Full-Stack Engineer (FDE) / 0-to-1 product engineering mindset - people who enjoy taking ambiguous problems and turning them into working products independently.\n\nThe objective is simple : BUSINESS PROBLEM - PRODUCT DECISION - BUILD - SHIP - MEASURE - IMPROVE\n\nYou will be part of Vedantu Engineering while working closely with the VEL business team.\n\nFIRST PROJECT\n\nYour first major project will be to automate the VEL pre-sales journey - specifically everything that happens before a sales/demo call.\n\nYou will work on building an AI-powered workflow that connects : \n\n- AI-powered calls\n\n- WhatsApp communication\n\n- CRM systems\n\n- Lead qualification and routing\n\n- Customer data and workflows\n\n- Automation and follow-ups\n\n- Business dashboards and reporting\n\nThe goal is to significantly reduce manual intervention in the pre-sales process and create a scalable, measurable system that can improve lead handling, qualification, conversion, and operational efficiency.\n\nThis is an opportunity to build a business-critical product from the ground up and take it all the way to production.\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO :\n\n- Work directly with VEL business stakeholders to understand workflows, requirements, and problems.\n\n- Convert loosely defined business problems into simple, scalable product and technical solutions.\n\n- Understand the existing Vedantu product, codebase, APIs, databases, and systems before deciding whether to reuse, extend, or build something new.\n\n- Own features end-to-end : requirement - design - development - testing - deployment - monitoring - iteration.\n\n- Build production-grade backend systems and services primarily using Java.\n\n- Work with existing APIs, services, databases, internal platforms, CRM systems, communication platforms, and third-party integrations.\n\n- Build AI-powered workflows using LLMs, AI agents, APIs, and automation tools where appropriate.\n\n- Use LLMs and AI coding tools extensively to design, code, debug, test, and ship faster.\n\n- Write automated tests and validate your own work rather than depending entirely on a separate QA cycle.\n\n- Instrument what you build and use production data and feedback to continuously improve the product.\n\n- Work directly with non-technical stakeholders and make practical product and implementation decisions.\n\n- Balance speed with engineering quality, security, maintainability, scalability, and reliability.\n\n- Challenge unnecessary complexity and continuously look for ways to reduce the distance between a business idea and a working product.\n\nWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR :\n\nMUST HAVE :\n\n- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.\n\n- Strong programming fundamentals and strong proficiency in Java.\n\n- Strong understanding of backend development, APIs, system design, and software engineering fundamentals.\n\n- Hands-on experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.\n\n- Experience building and shipping software used in a real production environment.\n\n- Ability to independently take a loosely defined problem and turn it into a working solution.\n\n- Strong ownership mindset and bias towards shipping.\n\n- Comfortable working directly with business and non-technical stakeholders.\n\n- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.\n\n- Comfortable using modern LLM-based development tools and coding agents as part of day-to-day engineering.\n\n- Ability to review, test, debug, and validate AI-generated code rather than blindly accepting it.\n\nSTRONG PLUS :\n\n- Experience as a Founding Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), Product Engineer, or Full-Stack Engineer with strong end-to-end ownership.\n\n- Experience building 0- 1 products, internal tools, workflow automation, or business-facing applications.\n\n- Experience owning a feature from requirement through production rather than working only on isolated development tasks.\n\n- Strong experience with Spring Boot or similar Java backend frameworks.\n\n- Experience with cloud infrastructure and production deployments.\n\n- Experience with AI/LLM APIs, AI agents, automation workflows, or AI-powered products.\n\n- Experience with tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding environments.\n\n- Experience working with CRM systems, WhatsApp APIs, communication platforms, or lead-generation/presales workflows.\n\n- Experience in a product company or fast-moving consumer technology environment.\n\n- Exposure to B2C, EdTech, SaaS, or high-scale consumer systems.\n\nWHAT MAKES THIS ROLE DIFFERENT :\n\nIn a conventional product development cycle, a business requirement may pass through multiple teams before reaching an engineer and eventually making its way to production.\n\nWe want to dramatically shorten that loop.
