Reporting into the Director of Data Engineering, you'll work hands-on with Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Python/PySpark and Power BI, bringing data in from our booking systems, databases and third-party APIs and shaping it into trusted, well-modelled datasets that the business relies on every day.\nWho are Veezu?\nVeezu is the UK's fastest growing taxi and private hire technology business operating across hundreds of UK towns and cities. We are a tech-driven on-demand mobility service that supports our hyper-local communities, helping them thrive and so much more!\nWhat you’ll do:\nDesign, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Microsoft Fabric using Pipelines, Notebooks, Lakehouses, Warehouses and OneLake.\n\nWrite PySpark notebooks to ingest and transform data from SQL Server databases, REST APIs, SaaS applications and file-based exports.\n\nDevelop and optimise SQL transformations, stored procedures and Kimball-style star-schema data models.\n\nBuild and support Power BI semantic models and the datasets behind dashboards used by teams across the business.\n\nImplement data quality, validation and reconciliation checks so numbers match across systems.\n\nMonitor production pipelines and troubleshoot data, performance and refresh issues.\n\nUse Git, automated testing and CI/CD to support reliable, repeatable deployments.\n\nMaintain clear documentation, data lineage and engineering standards.\n\nWork with analysts and business stakeholders to turn requirements into practical data solutions.\n\nBe committed to maintaining our ISO27001 certification and set high standards for Information Security compliance.\n\nWhat you’ll need:\nEssential\n2-4 years' experience in a data engineering role.\n\nStrong SQL skills, including complex transformations and performance tuning.\n\nHands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (or Azure Synapse / Data Factory and a willingness to move to Fabric).\n\nPython and PySpark for data ingestion and transformation.\n\nExperience integrating data from APIs and other external sources.\n\nGood knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modelling (Kimball).\n\nExperience with Power BI and semantic models.\n\nUnderstanding of data quality, testing and reconciliation, and experience with Git / source control.\n\nConfidence communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nNice to have\nCI/CD and automated testing for data pipelines.\n\nMicrosoft Fabric certification (e.g. DP-600 or DP-700).\n\nLakehouse / medallion architecture design patterns.\n\nExperience with data governance, security and lineage.\n\nExperience with high-volume transactional data, ideally in transport, mobility or on-demand services.\n\nWhere you’ll be:\nThis role is hybrid, based out of our Cardiff HQ, with 3 days per week in the
