This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments, enjoys solving complex legal and business problems, and wants to build the legal function from the ground up.\nYou will work closely with the founders and leadership team to support commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, product launches, strategic partnerships, fundraising, and day-to-day legal matters across the business.\nThe Hats You Will Wear\nCommercial Contracts\nDraft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements including:Master Service Agreements (MSAs)\nSaaS Agreements\nVendor & Procurement Agreements\nPartnership & Alliance Agreements\nNon-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)\nEmployment & Consultant Agreements\nCustomer Contracts\n\nDevelop and maintain standard contract templates and approval processes.\nRegulatory & Compliance\nAdvise business teams on applicable laws and regulations impacting fintech products.\nEnsure compliance with RBI guidelines, payment ecosystem regulations, data privacy requirements, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.\nWork closely with compliance, finance, security, and product teams on regulatory initiatives.\nMonitor changes in the legal and regulatory landscape and provide practical guidance.\nCorporate Legal\nSupport fundraising, due diligence, shareholder documentation, ESOP-related legal documentation, and board matters.\nCoordinate with external law firms, company secretaries, auditors, and regulatory consultants.\nMaintain corporate records and legal documentation.\nProduct & Business Advisory\nPartner with Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Leadership teams to identify legal risks early in the product lifecycle.\nProvide practical legal advice on new products, partnerships, and business initiatives.\nBalance legal risk with business objectives to enable faster decision-making.\nRisk Management\nIdentify legal risks across business operations and recommend mitigation strategies.\nManage pre-litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel where necessary.\nHandle legal notices, customer disputes, vendor issues, and contractual escalations.\nProcess & Governance\nEstablish legal processes, documentation standards, and contract lifecycle management practices.\nConduct legal awareness sessions for internal stakeholders.\nDrive legal automation and improve operational efficiency.\nThe Perfect Fit\nLL.B. / BA LL.B. from a recognized university.\n3 - 5 years of post-qualification experience, with significant experience in a startup environment (mandatory).\nStrong expertise in commercial contracting and corporate legal matters.\nWorking knowledge of RBI regulations, data privacy laws, and technology contracts.\nExcellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to independently handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.\nComfortable working directly with founders and cross-functional leadership teams.\nYour Edge Over The Rest\nPrior experience in fintech, payments, banking, lending, SaaS, or financial services is highly preferred.\nExposure to investor transactions, and due diligence processes.\nExperience being an early legal hire or building legal processes from scratch.\nFamiliarity with contract lifecycle management and legal automation tools.\nAbility to influence stakeholders through pragmatic, solution-oriented advice.\nThe Problem We’re Solving\nFinancial institutions today are held back by legacy systems that are slow, rigid, and expensive to scale.
