This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a small AP team, overseeing the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, and improving the controls, workflows, and cross-functional coordination that support accurate and timely payments.\nWorking closely with Accounting, Purchasing, Operations, Warehouse, and Logistics partners, this person will establish consistent processes, resolve complex exceptions, and drive accountability across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical AP expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to build scalable processes in a fast-paced, growing business.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nTeam Management\nManage, coach, and develop a two-person AP team, including reviewing work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures. \nOwn the AP ticketing system, review incoming tickets and assign them across the team.\nOwn the monthly allocation of duty, logistical shipping and freight within team members and process the highest-complexity or disputed classification items personally.\nServe as the escalation point for invoice exceptions and vendor disputes.\n Operations Coordination & Exception Processing\nOwn vendor onboarding and enforce dual-control verification for any change to vendor banking details (fraud prevention control).\nDrive purchase order (PO) discipline across the company; design and enforce an approval escalation path for invoices received without a PO.\nHandle exception-level review and final judgment on AP related invoices.\nTrack and escalate recurring Operations-driven bottlenecks to SM, with the goal of reducing them over time.\nCross-Functional Leadership\nPartner with Purchasing to enforce PO-before-order practices and reduce unmatched invoices.\nPartner with Warehouse/Operations to ensure timely, accurate receipt posting.\nManage relationships with freight, logistical shipment vendors and 3PL providers; lead resolution of billing disputes.\nPayments & Cash\nPrepare and provide weekly payment batches to SM for review and approval, ensuring payments are accurate, complete, and aligned with cash management priorities. \nManage payment terms, capture early-payment discounts, and manage payment methods for overseas vendors.\nMonth-End Closing Support\nReview Credit Card and monthly reimbursements transactions done by team members\nReconcile the AP aging schedule to the general ledger.\nPrepare the unbilled/accrued liabilities schedule\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.\n5-8 years of progressive accounts payable / procure-to-pay experience, ideally at a physical-goods, e-commerce, or consumer products company. \n3+ years of audit experience at a CPAfirm is a plus.\nStrong understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts.\nProficiency in accounting software and other related tools is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is also a must-have skill. Experience with NetSuite is a plus\nDemonstrated Experience with a full PO-based AP workflow - not invoice entry alone.\nExposure to import-related costs (freight, duty, customs brokerage) is a strong plus.\nPrior experience managing 1-2 direct reports while remaining hands-on.\nComfortable operating with significant autonomy and influencing cross-functional partners without direct authority over them.\nExcellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.\nAbility to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.\nStrong communication skills, both verbal and written.\nPhysical Demands:\nThis position primarily involves working at a desk and operating a computer for prolonged periods with moderate walking and standing.\nJob Location and Work Schedule:\nThis is a full-time, on-site position based out of Tomball, TX.\nWork Arrangement: Hybrid schedule with one remote workday per week and four days on-site.\n13808 Boudreaux Road, Bldg. #2, Tomball, TX 77377.\nMonday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.\nBenefits\nThe salary range is $95,000 - $115,000.\nFlexible Paid Time Off.\n12 PTO days per year, accrued bi-weekly, with annual increase.\n7 paid Holidays.\n401k contribution match of 4%.\nComprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance plans.
