From there, you will become a key part of our monthly close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and the continued evolution of our finance processes.\nWe are not looking for someone to simply inherit a checklist.\nWe want someone who understands Costpoint, knows government contracting accounting, and sees an inefficient process and naturally starts thinking about how to make it better.\nThe work\nYou will own and support work that directly affects the accuracy and reliability of our financial operation.\nYour core areas of ownership will include:\nPayroll processing, reconciliation, and issue resolution\nGeneral ledger accounting and journal entries in Deltek Costpoint\nMonth end close and account reconciliations\nSubledger to general ledger reconciliation and discrepancy research\nAccounting records aligned with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and government contracting requirements\nPartnership with Accounting, FP&A, and other teams across the business\nProcess documentation, improvement, and automation\nThis is a hands on accounting role, but we want you thinking beyond the transaction.\nIf something takes ten steps and should take five, we want you to notice.\nIf a process lives in someone's head, we want you to help document it.\nIf Costpoint can be used more effectively, we want you asking how.\nWhat success looks like\nWe want you to know what good looks like before you ever join us.\nWithin your first six months, you should be able to:\nIndependently own our recurring payroll process with a high degree of accuracy\nUnderstand how Veilant's accounting processes fit together from payroll through close and financial reporting\nNavigate our Costpoint workflows confidently\nOwn recurring reconciliations and investigate discrepancies through resolution\nBuild strong working relationships across Accounting and FP&A\nIdentify processes that can be simplified, documented, or automated\nCreate repeatable workflows that make the Finance team more scalable\nBecome someone the team trusts to take ownership and follow work through to completion\n You will probably thrive here if\nYou have at least 3 years of hands on Deltek Costpoint accounting experience.\nYou have processed payroll yourself, not simply reviewed someone else's work.\nYou understand general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month end close.\nYou have working knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and CAS.\nYou are comfortable investigating why numbers do not tie instead of passing the problem to someone else.\nYou like structure, but you are also comfortable helping create structure when it does not exist yet.\nYou care about getting the details right and meeting deadlines.\nYou do not need everything\nThese would help, but they are not requirements:\nAn active security clearance\nBilling or accounts receivable experience\nA bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field\nPaycom experience\nPrevious audit experience\nIf the core work sounds familiar and you know Costpoint well, we still want to hear from you.\nThis role may not be for you if\nYou are looking for a narrowly defined accounting job where every process is already documented and unlikely to change.\nYou prefer staying within one small piece of the accounting cycle.\nYou want to execute existing processes but are not interested in improving them.\nYou have used Costpoint occasionally but have not worked in it deeply enough to independently navigate accounting workflows.\n What is the Compensation Range for this role?\nThe salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 annually for full-time status.
