Venti has offices in Cambridge (Massachusetts, USA), Suzhou (China), and Singapore - our Asian headquarters.\nRole Overview\nWe are looking for a hands-on Autonomous Vehicle Specialist to support autonomous vehicle deployments and daily operations at customer sites across the United States.\n\nThis role is primarily focused on on-site vehicle operations, deployment support, customer coordination, and field issue handling. The successful candidate will work directly with customer operations teams and collaborate with venti Engineering teams to ensure vehicles are ready for operation, site activities run smoothly, and operational issues are addressed promptly.\n\nThe ideal candidate is practical, resourceful, and comfortable working in customer-facing environments. They should be willing to work hands-on with vehicles, respond to operational issues, and travel between deployment sites as business needs require.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n1. US Site Operations and Vehicle Support\nSupport day-to-day autonomous vehicle operations at customer sites, ensuring vehicles are ready for scheduled activities.\n\nPerform vehicle readiness checks, basic inspections, and operational checks before and after vehicle use.\n\nAssist with vehicle positioning, site preparation, operational coordination, and other on-site activities required for smooth daily operations.\n\nRespond to vehicle operational issues, perform initial troubleshooting, and coordinate with relevant teams to restore operations.\n\nWork closely with customer personnel to understand operational needs and address day-to-day site challenges.\n\nSupport operational activities outside normal working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, when required.\n\n2. Vehicle Deployment and Commissioning\nSupport the deployment of autonomous vehicles and associated equipment at new and existing customer sites.\n\nAssist with vehicle commissioning, site readiness checks, operational setup, and initial on-site testing.\n\nCoordinate with internal teams and customer representatives to ensure deployment activities are completed according to schedule.\n\nHelp identify and resolve practical deployment issues involving vehicle setup, site conditions, equipment, and operational procedures.\n\nSupport customer demonstrations, site acceptance activities, and operational ramp-up.\n\nTravel to different US sites as needed to support deployments and ongoing operations.\n\n3. Field Issue Handling and Coordination\nAct as a first point of contact for day-to-day vehicle and operational issues at assigned sites.\n\nGather relevant information when issues occur, including operating conditions, observed vehicle behavior, photos, videos, and system logs where appropriate.\n\nPerform basic troubleshooting and determine when issues require escalation to Engineering or other specialist teams.\n\nCommunicate issues clearly, follow up on their status, and coordinate with the relevant teams to minimize operational disruption.\n\nMaintain records of recurring issues, actions taken, and operational workarounds.\n\nHelp identify recurring site-level problems and recommend practical improvements to operating procedures.\n\n4. Customer and Cross-functional Coordination\nMaintain effective day-to-day communication with customer operations and maintenance teams.\n\nCoordinate schedules, vehicle availability, site activities, and operational support requirements.\n\nProvide clear explanations of vehicle operating procedures, system capabilities, and known operational limitations.\n\nRelay customer feedback and field observations to the Singapore-based Engineering and Product teams.\n\nCoordinate with US and Singapore teams to ensure operational issues are tracked and addressed.\n\nSupport customer meetings, demonstrations, and site visits as required.\n\n5. Operational Safety and Documentation\nFollow established vehicle operating procedures, site safety requirements, and company policies.\n\nIdentify and report unsafe conditions, abnormal vehicle behavior, and potential operational risks.\n\nEnsure field activities are conducted within approved safety procedures and operating boundaries.\n\nMaintain accurate records of vehicle checks, operational activities, incidents, and field issues.\n\nHelp improve site operating procedures and deployment checklists based on practical field experience.\n\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\nDiploma or degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.\n\nExperience in vehicle operations, field service, equipment deployment, technical support, robotics, automation, or a similar hands-on role.\n\nPractical troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve day-to-day operational issues systematically.\n\nStrong organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple on-site activities and follow through on open issues.\n\nClear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, operations personnel, and distributed Engineering teams.\n\nWillingness to work on-site at customer facilities and travel regularly between US deployment locations.\n\nFlexibility to support occasional evening, weekend, or extended-hour activities during deployments and critical operations.\n\nA valid driving licence appropriate for the assigned location.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with autonomous vehicles, commercial trucks, heavy vehicles, automotive systems, or industrial equipment.\n\nExperience working at customer sites, logistics facilities, ports, rail yards, or other industrial environments.\n\nExperience supporting vehicle commissioning, field deployment, equipment installation, or operational ramp-up.\n\nFamiliarity with basic vehicle electronics, sensors, diagnostic tools, and technical troubleshooting.\n\nBasic familiarity with Linux, system logs, or software-based vehicle systems.\n\nExperience working with teams across different locations and time zones.\n\nSalary is commensurate with experience.
