This role provides technical direction for development teams, ensures code quality and security, and coordinates development activity from planning through deployment. The position requires strong technical expertise, ownership, and communication across technology, data, and product groups.\nEssential Functions and Tasks\nLead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of software applications and services used across Ventra.\nProvide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring to developers working on shared systems and tools.\nTranslate business and product requirements into technical specifications, solution designs, and implementation plans.\nCoordinate release planning, sprint workloads, backlog refinement, and deployment activities with cross-functional teams.\nInvestigate and resolve production issues, ensuring root-cause analysis and long-term stability improvements.\nEnforce secure coding standards and ensure compliance with architecture, data security, and privacy policies.\nMaintain documentation of application logic, data flows, APIs, integrations, and development patterns.\nOptimize system performance, scalability, and reliability through monitoring, refactoring, and proactive improvements.\nCollaborate with Product, Data, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure alignment and long-term maintainability.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives, modernization opportunities, and adoption of updated development tooling.\nEducation and Experience Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred.\nFive or more years of software development experience with increasing levels of responsibility.\nExperience leading development workstreams or supervising engineers preferred.\nStrong experience with .NET, C#, APIs, SQL, and related modern development tools.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, containerization, and cloud-hosted environments.\nExperience supporting production systems in a healthcare or revenue cycle environment is a plus.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to lead complex engineering efforts with minimal direction.\nAbility to troubleshoot technical issues and drive resolution quickly and effectively.\nAbility to read, understand, and apply state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.\nAbility to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner.\nAbility to remain flexible and work in a collaborative, fast paced environment.\nStrong time management and organizational skills.\nStrong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel pivot tables, and database software.\nProficiency with modern programming languages, relational databases, and integration patterns.\nStrong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.\nUnderstanding of secure coding practices, compliance requirements, and data governance principles.\nCompensation\nBase Compensation will be based on various factors unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. \nThis position is also eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus in accordance with company policies. \nVentra Health\nEqual Employment Opportunity (Applicable only in the US) Ventra Health is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a culturally diverse organization.
