The people who work here know that, and they wouldn't have it any other way.\nAstrolab is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to own the design, implementation, and security of our enterprise and mission critical network infrastructure. This role requires hardening networks to meet NIST 800-171/53 and integrate on-premises environments into our cloud platforms. This position reports to the IT Manager, Cloud & Infrastructure.\nWhat you'll do:\nDesign and implement fault tolerant network architecture that aligns with NIST 800-171 and 53 frameworks \nDeploy, configure, and maintain network, wireless, firewall infrastructure across physical offices and cloud platforms \nArchitect and manage Azure cloud networking topologies (Hub & Spoke architectures, Virtual WAN, Azure ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways) \nSupport mission operations by ensuring real-time, low-latency telemetry and video broadcast streams \nUse tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to automate network and firewall configurations \nMonitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance of the network environments \nAct as the subject matter expert and primary escalation point for networking, cloud connectivity, and performance issues \nMentor and coach entry/mid-level engineers interested in expanding their skillsets \nParticipate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and perform root-cause analysis (RCA) for system outages \nMaintain clear, up-to-date documentation of architectural diagrams, deployment processes, and runbooks \nWhat you'll bring:\n Basic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) related field or equivalent combination of education and experience \n2+ years of professional experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure \nExperience configuring and supporting enterprise network infrastructure \n Preferred Qualifications\nExperience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching technologies \nExperience administering enterprise firewalls \nExperience with TCP/IP networking, including routing, switching, DNS, and DHCP \n6+ years of professional experience in network engineering \nExperience supporting network infrastructure in aerospace, defense, government, finance, or other regulated industries \nExperience administering Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Aruba, Silver Peak, or equivalent enterprise networking platforms \nExperience with BGP, OSPF, RADIUS, TACACS+, IPSec, Multicast, 802.1X, VRRP, or HSRP \nExperience supporting cloud or hybrid-cloud networking \nExperience with NIST/CMMC requirements \nExperience with IaC tools \nRelevant networking certifications \nExperience supporting aerospace, defense, or
