Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.\n Position Purpose:\nResponsible for reviewing and approving hazardous and non-hazardous material for disposal in accordance with site capabilities, approved permits, and appropriate regulatory requirements. Determines acceptability or rejection of chemical components of materials utilizing analytical data, MSDS’s, and facility information. Ensures that the approval process is in proper compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures.\nPrimary Duties /Responsibilities:\nWaste Review & Approval - Review WIP, SDS, and waste profiles with meticulous attention to detail to prevent unsafe materials from entering operations\nDiscrepancy Management - Identify, track, and resolve off-specification waste issues in FMS and Salesforce systems\nLabpack Audits - Conduct detailed audits and reviews of labpack shipments prior to acceptance\nApprovals Enrichment - Maintain and enhance approval data in FMS database\nCustomer Communication - Provide timely feedback to branches and customers regarding waste opportunities\nQuality Assurance - Support field operations with drum segregation oversight and chemical/waste compliance verification\nTechnical Support - Serve as technical resource for incineration and landfill operations; assist or backup process planners as needed\nTracks individual profiles to ensure that approvals are completed in a reasonable amount of time to meet scheduled incineration.\nAssigns pricing codes to waste streams.\nAssigns parameters in laboratory testing of individual samples to verify material.\nProvide constructive input on existing and/or proposed policies, regulations, and other pertinent changes to expedite the approval process at the facility.\nCompletes the approvals on a variety of materials.\nAssists in the technical training for facility.\nOther duties as assigned.\n Education / Experience / Background:\nBachelor of Science in Chemistry or related discipline\n5 to 6 years in the hazardous waste industry or related work experience\n1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.\nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:\nChemical/waste analysis expertise\nComputer proficiency with Microsoft Suite\nKnowledge of FMS and Salesforce systems\nStrong team player\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills\nStrong customer orientation\nStrong communication skills\nTime management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines\nAttention to detail and safety focus\nAbility to manage multiple priorities\nRequired Certification / Licenses / Training:\nOSHA HAZWOPER Certification\n Benefits: Veolia’s comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more.
