Together, we pursue a shared mission to create a more sustainable future.\n Position Summary\nOperate or tend equipment to control chemical changes or reactions in the processing of industrial products. Clean and load Chemsure trailers in the Point of Feed (POF) room; stage materials for production areas; wash totes; receive materials; put materials into storage locations; consolidate inventory; and perform general housekeeping.\nEssential Functions & Responsibilities:\nSupport all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations \nMove control settings to make necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of chemical reactions, quality, and yields\nMonitor recording instruments, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators, and listen for warning signals, to verify conformity of process conditions\nControl or operate chemical processes or systems of machines, using panel boards, control boards, or semi-automatic equipment\nRecord operating data such as process conditions, test results, and instrument readings\nConfer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality\nDraw samples of products and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and to ensure that standards are met\nRegulate or shut down equipment during emergencies, as directed by supervisory personnel\nStart pumps to wash and rinse reactor vessels, to exhaust gases and vapors, to regulate the flow of oil, steam, air, and to add products to blending vessels\nInterpret chemical reactions visible through sight glasses or on television monitors, and review laboratory test reports for process adjustments\nPatrol work areas to ensure that solutions in tanks and troughs are not in danger of overflowing\nNotify maintenance and other auxiliary personnel to correct equipment malfunctions and to adjust power, steam, water, or air supplies\nTurn valves to regulate flow of products or byproducts through agitator tanks, storage drums, or neutralizer tanks\nCalculate material requirements or yields according to formulas\nGauge tank levels using calibrated rods\nDefrost frozen valves using steam hoses\n Who You Are:\nTeam player, individual thinker\nCustomer-focused; positive attitude\nAttention to detail\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nWorking knowledge of SAP\nExcellent communication and documentation skills\nStrong math skills\nStrong computer skills, including Google\nEducation & Experience:\nRequired\nHigh school diploma or GED\nMinimum of six (6) months' experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment with hazardous materials.\nMinimum of 2 years’ related batch chemical blending/ formulation experience with hazardous materials\nMinimum of 1 year of analytical testing experience\nExperience driving a forklift\nPreferred\nAssociate degree from an accredited university, college, or technical school\nWorking Conditions:\nAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Boots, Safety Clothing, Safety Helmet, Safety Goggle/Glasses, Respirator, Gloves)\n At Veolia, we realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger communities.
