We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.\nWhat we can offer you;\n25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays\nAccess to our company/people’s pension scheme\nDiscounts on everything from groceries to well known retailers\nAccess to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to\n24 hour access to a virtual GP, 365 days a year, for you and family members in your household\nOne paid days leave every year to volunteer and support your community \nOngoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential\nWhat you’ll be doing;\nList, package and label hazardous waste streams at customer sites across the Southern UK region\nAssess drums and their contents at customer premises to determine appropriate handling and classification\nCollect wastes from customer sites and ensure safe transportation in 3.5t Luton vans in accordance with road transport and hazardous waste regulations\nUse IT systems to generate transport documents, reference safety data sheets and generate quotes when required\nPump, decant and re-drum rusty or leaking containers safely\nSample various waste streams, predominantly hazardous waste, for classification purposes\nPrint and complete labels and ensure accurate completion of all documentation to meet customer expectations\nAssess new customer inquiries and provide technical knowledge to customers and colleagues\nAssist with chemist duties in the Hazardous Waste Transfer Station when needed\nAssist with spillage clearance if required\nMaintain adequate stock levels of routine supplies\nProvide basic mentoring to new starters when suitably experienced\nFoster good customer relationships and comply with all customer site rules\nWhat we're looking for;\nMinimum A-Level Chemistry or a degree/HNC in Chemistry or relevant scientific qualification (essential)\nValid UK driving licence (essential)\nGood interpersonal skills for dealing with customers professionally\nHigh level of literacy and numeracy for accurate documentation\nKnowledge of environmental legislation (desirable)\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nProblem-solving skills with ability to find solutions independently\nEnthusiastic, willing to learn and adaptable\nFlexible with daily working hours as jobs may occasionally finish late\nCompliance-focused mindset with commitment to Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and COSHH regulations\nADR Licence, Forklift Truck Licence and First Aid qualifications desirable (training provided if not held)\nMobile role - must be comfortable working at various customer sites across the Southern region\n.\nWhat’s next?\nApply today, so we can make a difference for generations to come.\nWe're proud to have been named as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for three consecutive years in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
