Join our team at this cutting-edge facility to contribute to environmental sustainability and water management in Kuwait.\nAt Veolia, you'll work on impactful projects, enjoy growth opportunities, and be part of our mission to lead the ecological transformation in wastewater treatment and reclamation.\n Position Title: EHS Officer\nLocation: Sulaibiya Wastewater Treatment Plant, Kuwait\nReports to: EHS Manager - Kuwait (Sulaibiya Wastewater Plant)\nPosition Purpose:\nThe EHS Officer will support the EHS Manager in implementing, monitoring, and improving health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across the Sulaibiya site. The position includes, but is not limited to, ensuring compliance with local legislation, company policies, and client requirements, while promoting a strong safety culture among all employees and contractors.\nPrimary Duties/Responsibilities:\nMonitor daily site activities to identify and report unsafe conditions, acts, or potential hazards.\nSupport incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up on corrective/preventive actions.\nConduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions for employees and subcontractors.\nAssist in preparing Permit to Work, risk assessments, and job safety analyses.\nCarry out regular site inspections and participate in audits as directed by the EHS Manager.\nSupport the implementation of Life Saving Rules and site-specific safety campaigns.\nMaintain HSE records, reports, and documentation as per Veolia.\nCoordinate PPE issuance, inspections, and ensure proper usage across the site.\nProvide first-level guidance on safety procedures to supervisors and workers.\nSupport emergency response activities.\nContinuously do routine site checks and guarantee that good housekeeping and welfare facilities are available.\nMake sure all safety practices are applied correctly (confined space procedure, Lock Out Tag out, Working at Height, Electrical safety, Chemical Loading and unloading). Only trained and authorized employees should perform the specific work.\nConduct monthly inspections of the emergency tools and equipment, report the findings with the relevant parties, and follow up on closing the findings\nSupport the EHS team in conducting emergency evacuation and chemical spill drills\nContinuously monitor the employee's behavior towards safety by their actions and coach them accordingly.\nEnsuring the implementation of the requirements from Veolia’s Life Saving Rules (LSR) and High Risk Management Standards (HRMS)\nInspect all machines (cranes and forklifts or any other machines), equipment (cutting, grinding, and welding), and PPEs before daily work starts - check for color coding and inspection forms\nSkills & Abilities:\nStrong observation and reporting skills.\nAbility to communicate safety requirements effectively to diverse teams.\nProficient in Google Workspace (G-Suite Tools: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms,…Etc) for safety reporting and presentations.\nTeam player with a proactive and positive safety mindset.\nAbility to exercise and apply Stop Work Authority (SWA) in line with Veolia’s guidelines.\nAbility to work under supervision and escalate critical issues promptly.\nAdaptable to changing site conditions and able to prioritize safety in high-pressure environments.\nOther duties as assigned.\n Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Management, or related field (preferred).\nRecognized safety training or certification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent) -
