The EHS Specialist will strive to provide a healthy and accident-free work environment for all employees through the recognition, evaluation, and control of environmental and workplace health hazards. The EHS Specialist will counsel management and employees honestly and completely in the responsible and ethical application of environmental and industrial health principles and practices.\nDuties & Responsibilities:\nLead activities that drive compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and corporate EHS laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines\nAnalyze data and audit processes that drive compliance in Ergonomics, emergency preparedness and response, preventative maintenance, traffic management, contractor management, and other various management standards\nSupport and improve EHS programs and practices in the plant to reduce and eliminate hazards and associated risks\nAssist in leading departmental EHS Projects and completing required reports\nLead and/or support investigations of workplace incidents, complete root cause analyses to determine appropriate corrective actions, and ensure completion\nConduct safety inspections\nProvide technical assistance and guidance to the site by leading or assisting in safety committee team and meetings, including EHS regulatory interpretations\nParticipate in incident investigations\nParticipate in sustainability initiatives and reporting\nPromote behavior-based safety\nEnsure all employee and contractor training is completed, documented, and maintained\n Key Characteristics:\nPassion for environmental, health, and safety-related matters\nEnthusiastic trainer\nOrganized and attentive to details\nSelf-motivated\nShows initiative\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nKnowledge of and implementation of hazard recognition, evaluation, and control\nKnowledge of working with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office\nKnowledge of Incoming Material Approval Systems and SDS tracking\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with plant management and office personnel and production/field employees\nEducation & Experience:\nRequired\nAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety, Chemistry, Engineering, or Environmental Science, or relevant experience\nAt least 3 to 5 years of experience in an EHS role.\nWorking Conditions:\nLess than 25% travel\nThe job description is not designed to capture all the employee’s responsibilities but is intended to capture essential functions of the role. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity.
