Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.\n Position Purpose:\nLeads Operators and O&M Technicians in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant.\nPrimary Duties/Responsibilities:\nResponsible for operating and monitoring main control system.\nPerforms Wastewater process control and preventative maintenance/corrective maintenance functions.\nCoordinates and works with maintenance staff on preventive and corrective maintenance functions.\nPerforms cleaning and general housekeeping duties in work areas including office, laboratory, cleaning of clarifiers, headworks, centrifuge, and other process equipment as assigned.\nMay be required to work in sanitary sewerage collection systems including maintenance of lift stations.\nMay be required to operate automotive equipment, including heavy trucks, forklifts and front-end loaders.\nAdheres to all safety regulations.\nMay train or assist in the training of OITs and assigned helpers.\n Education/Experience/Background:\nBachelor’s Degree in related field/or equivalent work experience.\n8+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nCapable of being assigned as responsible charge of the facility with an ability to react to unplanned events.\nRequired Certification/Licenses/Training:\nGrade IV or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate.\nValid Driver’s License.\nCommercial Driver's License.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to perform the following: straight pulling, reaching above the shoulder, pushing, walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, repeated bending and sitting for extended periods of time.
