Must be a self-motivated & energetic professional. Must have understanding of building mechanical systems design, construction & operation. Must have experience with commissioning process of mechanical systems ranging in size, rating and complexity. The ideal candidate shall possess theoretical and practical knowledge in the commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and related controls. Candidate will be responsible for reviewing project information; executing daily field activities; maintaining project documentation; assisting the Project Manager with schedule and planning of resources, and providing guidance to Project Engineers. May perform as team lead on small to medium sized projects. Will be expected to assess and test at a high technical level. This role requires the candidate to have technical competency, organizational skills, good communication skills, and to work well in a team environment where leadership is necessary.\nPrimary Duties/Responsibilities:\nCommission mechanical, plumbing & fire alarm and suppression equipment and related controls, primarily in data center environments.\nReview system designs for compliance with client facility goals.\nPrepare plans and procedures for execution of the commissioning process.\nConduct commissioning activities from the design phase through the occupation phase, in accordance with client requirements and industry commissioning process best practices.\nAttend factory testing of equipment and document procedures and results.\nConduct functional testing of equipment.\nPerform analysis of test results using instrumentation and prepare reports.\nFully document all field procedures including results, issues and observations either via company provided templates or online applications.\nReport on system performance and make technical recommendations on issues.\nWork with the Project Manager and project teams to coordinate and execute field activities.\nPrepare and provide input on commissioning project documentation and schedules.\nDraft comprehensive test procedures for a variety of equipment and systems.\nAttend relevant project coordination and schedule meetings as necessary.\nMay be required to lead commissioning meetings or speak on technical topics.\nAssist with submitting and maintaining daily commissioning reports.\nTrain and guide both Associate Project Engineers and Project Engineers on roles & responsibilities.\nRespond to project team and client inquiries in a professional and timely manner.\nComply with company, client, and project safety requirements.\nBe knowledgeable with Mechanical, Plumbing & FLS building systems & equipment, including, but not limited to:Air Cooled Chiller\nWater Cooled Chiller\nCooling Tower\nDirect Evaporative Cooling System\nAir Handling Unit\nComputer Room Air Conditioning Unit\nProcess Water Plants\nBoilers\nFuel Systems\nBackup generators\nGas turbines\nReciprocating engines\nSteam turbines\nSelective catalytic reduction systems\nFan Coil Unit\nDX Split System\nFan Array\nChemical Injection System\nVariable Frequency Drive\nVariable Refrigerant Volume System\nRooftop Unit\nVariable Air Volume Unit\nMakeup Air Unit\nHydronic Pump\nLeak Detection\nHeat Trace\nDDC & PLC Controls\nFire Pumps & Controller\nPre-Action Fire Suppression System\nFire Alarm Control Panel\nVESDA System\nDomestic Water Pumps & Heaters\n\n Education/Experience/Background:\nBSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering with 5 or more years with mission critical project experience, or relevant and applicable mechanical and/or controls experience;\nOR\nMinimum of 7 or more years of experience in commissioning with mission critical project experience, or relevant and applicable mechanical and/or controls experience.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nExperience in Mission Critical facility commissioning essential.\nOrganized, detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, problem solver.\nGood communication and relationship skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work with limited supervision and manage junior engineers on day to day tasks.\nKnowledge & experience with ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidelines preferred.\nDistributed control system experience a plus.\nGood understanding of building management systems (BMS) and/or electrical power monitoring system (EPMS).\nDeep understanding and application of test instrumentation.\nTeam player and a “client-first” mentality.\nAbility to educate and guide Project Engineers.\nRequired Certification/Licenses/Training:\nProfessional Engineers (PE) License and/or a commissioning certification a plus but not required.\nPhysical Requirements:\nTravel nationwide 50% - 75% if not assigned locally; may have periods of higher travel expectation.\nAbility to walk up to 5 miles per day.\nCarry up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to wear required PPE daily.\n Pay Range: $112000 to $130000 Per Year.\nBenefits: Veolia’s comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more.
