The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, coupled with a robust understanding of digitizing, editing, and managing geospatial data. This position requires significant fieldwork across the city utilizing GPS equipment, making strong physical stamina and meticulous attention to detail essential. Experience with collection systems (e.g., sewer, stormwater) is considered a valuable asset.\nPrimary Duties/Responsibilities:\nDigitize, edit, and maintain GIS data derived from engineering as-builts, GPS field collection, and red-lined drawings.\nExecute daily updates to the city’s GIS databases to ensure accurate representation of infrastructure assets.\nConduct GPS-based field data collection using handheld or backpack GPS units (e.g., EOS Arrow, Trimble, etc.).\nGenerate map products and perform spatial analyses for internal departments, engineering projects, and presentations.\nProvide support for GIS-related requests from various departments and deliver training to staff as needed.\nAdhere to established data standards and contribute to documentation and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes.\nAssist with the integration of GIS data with other systems and software.\nWalk for extended periods across the city, sometimes in varying weather conditions, while collecting field data.\nWork Environment:\nAbility to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.\nOccasional office-based work for data processing and map production.\n Education/Experience/Background:\nBachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field.\n1-3 years of hands-on experience working with GIS, preferably in a utility, municipal, or environmental setting.\nExperience with digitizing as-builts and editing features in geodatabases.\nExperience with water, wastewater, or stormwater collection systems is highly desirable.\nExperience working with municipal infrastructure data.\nBasic scripting experience (e.g., Python or Arcade) is a plus.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nProficiency in ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online is required.\nFamiliarity with GPS data collection methods and related equipment.\nBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).\nAbility to work independently and manage time effectively.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nClear communication skills, both written and verbal.\nFamiliarity with Survey123, Field Maps, or Collector.\nPhysical Requirements:\nRegular fieldwork involving walking, standing, and carrying equipment for long periods.\n Pay Range: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour.\nBenefits: Veolia’s comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more.
