The High Purity Water Technician will be working in the Ann Arbor Michigan area.\nKey Characteristics\nStrong mechanical aptitude\nWillingness to learn and ability to take instructions on Wastewater treatment processes\nAbility and desire to build and maintain a \"team mentality\"\nStrong communication skills, both verbally and written\nIndependent decision-making and judgment for commonly encountered problems\nAbility to develop creative and innovative ideas to improve processes\nStrong mechanical aptitude\nWillingness to learn and ability to take instructions on Wastewater treatment processes\nAbility and desire to build and maintain a \"team mentality\"\nStrong communication skills, both verbally and written\nIndependent decision-making and judgment for commonly encountered problems\nAbility to develop creative and innovative ideas to improve processes\nHighly effective report creation skills, including narrative and data presentation through the use\nof tables and graphs\nAbility to support a 24/7 operation\nAbility to provide guidance and leadership by exemplifying hard work, attention to detail, fair\ntreatment of team members, and taking responsibility for results\nDuties & Responsibilities\nCommunicate with customers on their needs and requirements as well as but not limited to: following up, providing quotes, scheduling cleanings that require downtime, etc.\nProvide mechanical support to the deionized water treatment systems through several locations at a client site, minimum travel required\nTroubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues\nWork independently and as part of a small team\nConsistent work schedule with minimum over time\nBuild relationships and add value to our internal and external stakeholders\nMaintenance and repair of high purity water equipment including but not limited to; Softeners, Reverse Osmosis, and Deionized tanks.\nCollect and test water samples to determine concentration levels and impurities.\nPerform all scheduled maintenance, service, and new installations.\nResponsible for accurate record keeping of client data such as hardness levels, conductivities, meter readings, RO temperatures, pressures, and flows.\nResponsible for entering and updating repair and parts information into Veolia’s data management system.\nCoordinate with Veolia’s SDI Operations Manager for ordering tanks, filters, and any necessary expendables.\nPrepare and send proposals to clients for preventative maintenance work.\nLoad Salt into brine tanks\nComply with all Veolia and client safety requirements/protocols\nOther Duties as assigned\n Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\nProficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalent\nStrong communication skills, both verbally and written\nAbility to make process changes based on lab data and general process knowledge to correct compliance issues or improve treatment processes\nAbility to evaluate skills and abilities of other operators to properly assign/delegate tasks such as lab analyses, maintenance, preventive maintenance, chemical inventory management, and waste disposal\nAbility to evaluate maintenance projects and determine what outside support is needed, then coordinate and schedule with client maintenance teams or contractors\nIndependent scheduling of work load and management of inventories including lab supplies, consumable items, and equipment parts\nWillingness and availability to work with fellow operators on off-shifts when problems arise or if the operator needs assistance\nAbility to access customer site\nEducation & Experience\nRequired:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nMust have a valid driver's license. Experience driving a small box truck is preferred.\nPreferred:\nMust possess 2-5 years experience in a maintenance/trades environment, and preferred to have experience with Softeners, Reverse Osmosis, or IONX.\nKnowledge of plumbing / electrical wiring is desired but not required\nMust be familiar with computing systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite\nExperience with wet chemistry tests ie. conductivity, hardness, etc. is preferred.\nTechnical Knowledge - fundamentals of basic mechanics, electrical, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.\nAbility to utilize, organize, and communicate well within Google Office.\nCommunication Skills - provide clear instructions and information to the client and fellow Veolia personnel.\nWorking Conditions\nTypical working conditions for this position include mechanical rooms on a University campus.\nSystems are located on rooftops, mezzanines, and basements.
