Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.\n Position Purpose:\nThe EI&C Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment at the power generation and utilities distribution facilities. This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations through inspection, calibration, testing, and installation work.\nPrimary Duties/Responsibilities:\nMaintain and repair instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment.\nPerform preventive and predictive maintenance, including inspections and calibrations.\nTroubleshoot and service systems such as DCS, PLCs, and turbine controls.\nSupport electrical systems up to 12kV (motors, transformers, switches, wiring, and communications).\nMaintain accurate maintenance and calibration records in compliance with regulations.\nMonitor equipment, diagnose faults, and recommend performance improvements.\nAssist in maintaining safe chemical handling systems and utility distribution.\nFollow all safety procedures, including Work Permits, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and PPE use.\nParticipate in emergency response drills and activities.\nCoordinate with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.\nOperate plant equipment such as forklifts, trucks, manlift and bucket trucks.\nComplete work orders and documentation in Veolia’s CMMS system.\nRead and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.\nWork independently with minimal supervision, following standard procedures.\nCommunicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external partners.\nContribute to plant reliability and cost-effective operation.\nWork Environment:\nMay require extended hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call duty.\nWork indoors and outdoors in loud, hot, cold, or confined environments near high-voltage equipment.\nExposure to hazardous chemicals and industrial noise.\n Education/Experience/Background:\nHigh School Diploma/GED is required.\n2-5 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, or controls maintenance (power plant or industrial experience preferred).\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nFamiliarity with motors, pumps, turbines, generators, boilers, cooling towers, and emissions control systems.\nStrong understanding of AC/DC systems, schematics, P&IDs, and control logic.\nKnowledge of safety protocols for chemicals, rotating equipment, confined spaces, and high-voltage systems.\nSkilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.\nExcellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nRequired Certification/Licenses/Training:\nProgress toward a Journeyman or Master Electrician License, or an Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics is highly desirable.
