This internship serves as an introduction to the water/wastewater industry and explores potential career pathways in operations, engineering, and facility management. You will become part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving our community and protecting our environment.\nPrimary Duties/Responsibilities:\nThis internship position will provide hands-on experience in a water/wastewater environment and will involve working under the guidance of an experienced full-time employee (FTE).\nThis internship is focused on our Transmission & Distribution Department, where you will gain hands-on learning and exposure to the fundamental business processes and procedures essential to that department's operations.\nThis position involves laboratory, technical, maintenance, and groundskeeping work in the operation of a wastewater treatment facility. This position will also work with the Regional Engineer to discover the planning, development and execution of construction projects at a water/wastewater facility. This position also provides exposure to experienced operations leaders who will teach and provide knowledge about their specialized areas, broadening your understanding of how different functions contribute to overall facility success.\nCandidates with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team are encouraged to apply.\nWork Environment:\nAbility to work in a wastewater environment.\nEnvironments vary by internship function from office to field to plant.\nOur aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern.\n Education/Experience/Background:\nHigh School Diploma/GED is required.\nRising seniors.\nTech Schools.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nStrong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills.\nDemonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.\nStrong ability to follow instructions accurately.\nGood organizational and time management skills.\nWillingness to work under the guidance of an experienced FTE.\nReliable and punctual attendance.\nPhysical Requirements:\nCapability to lift objects weighing approximately 30-35 lbs.\n Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour.\nBenefits: Interns are considered temporary employees. Medical and basic life insurance coverage is available to temporary employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week immediately following 60 days of service.
