Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.\n Position Purpose:\nThe Operator I operate(s) and maintain(s) sludge, de-watering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in refinery/industrial facility to meet customer specifications under direct supervision.\nPrimary Duties/Responsibilities:\nMust consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.\nMust demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.\nMust demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.\nUnder Supervision perform the following:Keep the work area neat and clean.\nCollect liquid and solid samples and perform routine sampling testing.\nLog and Record process readings.\nPerform unit rounds.\nAssist in facility equipment preventative maintenance.\nAssist in general maintenance of facility equipment.\n\n Education/Experience/Background:\nHigh School Diploma/GED is required.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nEmployees with no prior, specific experience related to those skills and who hired into the company will start employment in the position of Operator I. These employees will advance in progression as they acquire new skills and demonstrate competency of the skills in accordance with this program. Employees may test for competency of Operator II no sooner than thirty (30) days following their most recent competency demonstration.
