They develop and support water, wastewater, and waste treatment solutions from initial sales and engineering through commissioning and operation.\nFor complex projects involving multiple treatment processes, the Process Engineering Project Technical Leader takes ownership of the overall treatment solution. Working with Process Engineers who bring expertise in the technologies involved, you’ll guide the team in developing an integrated solution that meets customer requirements and can be delivered successfully.\nYou’ll bring deep technical knowledge, sound commercial judgment, and a strong understanding of customer processes, markets, regulations, and competitors. You’ll help balance technical risk and commercial viability, lead troubleshooting when issues arise, and build trusted relationships with customers and industry experts. You’ll also help share Veolia’s expertise through customer and industry presentations.\nWhat you’ll do\nLead the development of complete water, wastewater, or waste treatment solutions, including process flow sheets, unit operations, and process parameters, using in-house and industry design tools.\nOwn the overall Process Flow Diagram (PFD), flow tables or mass balance, and process guarantees, working with the Process Engineers responsible for individual technologies.\nSet the process strategy for the project, including the design basis, safety factors, treatment of flow variations, and approach to meeting customer requirements and competing effectively.\nCoordinate Process Engineers working on the flow sheet. Define deliverables and schedules, assign work, and ensure process deliverables meet quality and schedule expectations.\nEvaluate how unit processes interact, including their potential effects on upstream and downstream processes.\nIdentify and manage technical risks across the treatment solution in collaboration with the project team.\nServe as the lead technical contact for customers and for internal functions working on the project.\nTroubleshoot technical issues using data and observations, and lead the team’s efforts to find and implement solutions.\nUnderstand relevant regulations and liaise with regulatory agencies as needed.\nTake accountability for the success of assigned projects throughout development, including treatment performance, successful operation, and customer satisfaction.\nCommunicate proactively, collaborate across teams, and lead corrective actions when needed.\nRepresent Veolia’s expertise in the external market through customer and conference presentations.\nProvide training and one-to-one coaching.\n Bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering discipline. Advanced degrees will be considered. A degree in another technical discipline, such as science, may also be considered with relevant experience.\nRelated experience, preferably in process engineering, with an emphasis on the design and/or operation of water, wastewater, or waste treatment systems.\nLeadership experience or demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to:\nConnect people around a shared vision and objective.\nAlign and motivate a team.\nTrain, coach, and mentor others.\nMake sound decisions with limited information in changing conditions.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.\nA customer-focused approach and the ability to balance technical and commercial considerations.\nWorking conditions\nOffice-based work environment.\nPeriodic travel within North America, with the possibility of travel beyond North America.\nTechnical leadership on individual proposals and projects.\nCoordination of multiple Process Engineers who may not report directly to you.\nAccountability for high-impact technical decisions.
