In this role, the successful candidate will lead the execution of water and wastewater technology projects from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and start-up. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical project management background, excellent customer and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced project environment.\nThis role is well suited to a self-motivated, organized, and commercially aware professional who can manage scope, schedule, cost, resources, risks, and customer expectations. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, Sales, Finance, Legal, suppliers, and customers to deliver safe, high-quality projects on time and within budget.\nKey Characteristics\nLead multidisciplinary teams through complex engineering, construction, and technology projects.\nCommunicate effectively with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, internal teams, and leadership.\nBuild strong working relationships and promote accountability across project teams.\nManage multiple priorities, workstreams, schedules, and project deliverables.\nApply sound judgment to resolve technical, commercial, schedule, and resource-related challenges.\nBalance customer needs with project scope, profitability, contractual obligations, and company objectives.\nUnderstand the design, construction, commissioning, and operational aspects of water treatment technologies.\nPromote collaboration, continuous improvement, and disciplined project execution.\nMake timely, responsible decisions that support project success and protect Veolia’s reputation.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nLead project execution from contract handoff through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and closeout.\nDefine and manage project scope, schedule, budget, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.\nCommunicate project goals, responsibilities, priorities, and dependencies to the project team.\nCoordinate engineering, procurement, project controls, construction, vendors, subcontractors, and start-up activities.\nServe as a primary point of contact for the customer regarding process, scope, equipment, schedule, and project status.\nMaintain strong relationships with customers, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.\nMonitor project performance, including cost versus budget, schedule, percentage complete, risks, opportunities, and forecasted costs.\nPrepare monthly project reports and communicate status, issues, and required actions to management.\nIdentify, document, evaluate, and manage scope changes and change orders.\nSupport negotiations with suppliers and customers through Procurement and Sales.\nReview and interpret internal and external contracts, including scope, payment terms, schedule, changes, and risk.\nPrepare internal costing, tax, legal, insurance, and risk assessment documentation and obtain required approvals.\nEscalate issues that may affect project cost, schedule, scope, quality, customer satisfaction, or profitability.\nSupport commissioning, start-up, customer handover, project closeout, and lessons-learned activities.\nEnsure project documentation, decisions, risks, and deliverables are organized and accessible.\nShare best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of project execution processes.\n Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\nStrong project planning, organization, and execution skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to prepare clear project reports, proposals, correspondence, presentations, and business documentation.\nProven ability to lead, motivate, and delegate work to cross-functional team members.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills.\nAbility to manage changing priorities and multiple concurrent workstreams.\nUnderstanding of engineering, construction, procurement, commissioning, and operational project activities.\nAbility to interpret contractual language and assess commercial and project risk.\nStrong customer service, negotiation, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills.\nComfort working within established processes while developing creative solutions when needed.\nAbility to use project data, team input, and site conditions to make informed decisions.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project scheduling, reporting, or project controls tools.\nEducation and Experience\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical or science discipline.\nFive or more years of hands-on experience in project engineering and project management.\nExperience managing engineering, construction, equipment, technology, or infrastructure projects.\nExperience coordinating internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and customers.\nPreferred:\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification.\nExperience with water or wastewater treatment systems, environmental technologies, or industrial process equipment.\nExperience with commissioning, start-up, or operational handover activities.\nExperience with project controls, cost forecasting, risk management, and change-order administration.\nFamiliarity with project management or enterprise systems such as Microsoft Project, SAP, or equivalent.\nAt Veolia, we realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger\ncommunities. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity.
