This executive leader is accountable to all the Business Line Leaders and the NORAM Regional Leader for building and leading high-performing teams of process engineering experts, ensuring the\ndelivery of technically sound, commercially aligned, and operationally executable solutions across multiple industry markets.\nThis role is responsible for advancing engineering excellence through a balanced focus on accuracy, speed, standardization, innovation, and market responsiveness. The Senior Director will shape engineering strategy, optimize organizational capability, and drive alignment between process engineering, commercial objectives, customer needs, and long-term business growth.\nThe ideal candidate brings deep expertise in water, wastewater and biosolid treatment, strong people leadership, and the ability to translate market requirements into scalable process solutions that enhance our competitive advantage.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nStrategic Leadership\nLead the vision, strategy, and execution of the process engineering function in support of Water Tech NORAM integrated growth objectives.\nEstablish engineering priorities, operating models, and capability plans that enable the business to respond effectively and at speed to market opportunities and customer demands.\nDrive the development of scalable, repeatable, and differentiated treatment solutions aligned with targeted industry segments and market needs.\nServe as a key member of the EPP (and extended NORAM) leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, portfolio decisions, and operational excellence initiatives.\nFunctional Leadership & Organizational Development\nBuild, lead, and develop a best-in-class process engineering organization with strong technical depth, leadership capability, and customer orientation.\nCreate a high-performance culture centered on Execution\nProvide executive oversight of process design activities for WaterTech NORAM, ensuring technical rigor, design integrity, and consistency across all the Business Lines in the organization.\nEstablish and enforce engineering standards, methodologies, review processes, and quality controls that improve accuracy, reduce risk, and accelerate delivery.\nDrive improvements in engineering productivity, cycle time, design quality, and reusability through standard tools, digital enablement, and optimized workflows.\nEnsure treatment solutions are practical, manufacturable, operable, compliant, and aligned with project and business requirements.\nMarket Alignment & Commercial Partnership\nAlign process engineering strategy and deliverables with the needs of distinct end markets, applications, and customer segments.\nPartner closely with commercial leaders, product management, operations, and project execution teams to develop solutions that are technically robust and commercially competitive.\nSupport strategic customer engagement, high-value proposals, key pursuits, and complex technical sales opportunities.\nProvide market-informed technical guidance on emerging treatment needs, competitive positioning, and solution differentiation.\nInnovation & Continuous Improvement\nWorking with the Water Tech Research & Development team and the EPP Global Project Solutions Innovation Adoption team advance innovation in treatment process design, technology application, modeling, automation, and engineering work processes.\nIdentify opportunities to improve speed, quality, and scalability of engineering output while maintaining strong technical and regulatory compliance.\nLead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce rework, increase standardization, and improve responsiveness to the business.\nPromote the adoption of new tools, methods, and technologies that strengthen engineering effectiveness and business value.\nRisk, Compliance & Governance\nEnsure engineering activities are conducted with a strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and sound risk management.\nMaintain governance over engineering decisions, technical approvals, and design controls across the portfolio.\nAct as the senior escalation point for complex process, performance, and technology issues.\n Required\nBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n12+ years of progressive experience in process engineering, including substantial experience in water and wastewater treatment system design and application.\n7+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams, functions, or multidisciplinary technical organizations.\nDemonstrated success leading engineering organizations in environments requiring high technical accuracy, speed of execution, and cross-functional alignment.\nDeep knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies and their application across multiple industry markets.\nStrong business acumen and the ability to align engineering decisions with commercial, operational, and strategic objectives.\nProven ability to lead through complexity, influence across functions, and drive organizational change.\nPreferred\nAdvanced degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional credential.\nExperience in municipal and industrial water markets, including customized and standardized treatment solutions.\nFamiliarity with global regulatory frameworks, product/platform strategies, and process design digitalization tools.\nExperience supporting mergers and acquisitions integration, global The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity.
