This exciting role offers diverse opportunities across a comprehensive range of electrical and mechanical work, with a balanced focus on both electrical and mechanical systems (covering industrial electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, PAT testing, fixed wire testing, system controls, and steam boiler systems). We are seeking candidates with both electrical and mechanical experience, though we are also happy to consider applicants with a strong background in either discipline who are looking to apply their expertise in a shift-based environment while working with sustainable technologies in a supportive team environment.\nWhether you're looking to overhaul the industry, or just do a good day's work, we know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.\nWhat we can offer you:\n17 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (17 x 12 hour shifts)\nRefer an Engineer to us once you’ve joined and earn £1000\nAccess to our people’s pension scheme\nFree physiotherapy service \nDiscounts on everything from groceries to well known retailers\nAccess to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to\nOngoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential \nWhat you'll be doing:\nCarry out work as per schedule supplied by the Contracts Manager or Supervisor.\nComplete site documentation before and after work tasks.\nLiaise with subcontractors during planned service maintenance.\nAll work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.\nFlexibility to work on equipment in all buildings and around Maintenance Shutdowns\nParticipate in Audits of the Mechanical and Electrical plant rooms and follow up on actions\nCarry out routine and statutory planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works to all mechanical and electrical systems.\nEnsure that the Steam boilers are maintained as per OEM specifications.\nEnsure that plant faults and defects are swiftly rectified to maintain the plants in serviceable order at all times (24/7).\nMaintenance and publication of plant quality records and reports.\nCarry out daily routine operational tasks to plants that will comply with legislation and company policies.\nFlexibility to provide shift coverage to maintain operational continuity when shift technicians are on holiday, ensuring all duties and responsibilities are fulfilled during their absence.\nThis role involves some lifting, working at heights and/or in confined spaces\nWhat we're looking for:\nEssential\nExperience with Pumps, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services.\nAbility to read and understand P&IDs/electrical drawings\nAn understanding of Instrumentation.\nUnderstanding of safety protocols \nEquipment troubleshooting and diagnostics, \nPreventive maintenance procedures, \nComputer literacy and software applications, \nGood understanding of mechanical systems\nReading technical manuals and schematics, \nQuality control procedures, \nDocumentation and record-keeping, \nCommunication skills and teamwork, \nBasic IT and networking skills, \nIndustry-specific regulations and standards, \nDemonstrate hands-on experience of troubleshooting and repair of industrial electrical systems; and related mechanical experience .\nDesirable:\nBoiler Operations Accreditation Scheme (BOAS)\nMedium Risk Confined Space\nElectrical experience - City & Guilds 2382 - 18th Edition\nCity & Guilds 2391\nHealth and Safety qualifications and awareness, risk assessment, method statement training, competence in issuing and use of all company Permit to Work systems would be preferential, however, training will be provided where appropriate.\nWhat’s next?\nApply today, so we can make a difference for generations to come.\nWe're proud to have been named as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for three consecutive years in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
