Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.\n Position Purpose:\nThis position will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and repair of pumps, motors,\ntreatment equipment, controls, and SCADA equipment. The Water Treatment Operator (WTO)\nworks with the Chief Operator, or independently, as the need arises. Maintain water production and\nquality for public consumption. Ensures pumping combinations are conducted in the most\neconomical manner. Regulates system pressure, monitors booster stations and storage facilities,\nand observes treatment conditions. The WTO shares the responsibility of maintaining production\ndata and chemical usage logs with the Chief Operator. The WTO is responsible for the collection and\ntabulation of monthly data, including creating and modifying Excel files and E OPS which calculate\nsystem data.\nPrimary Duties/Responsibilities:\nPrepare and submit all routine compliance related documents to the State.\nPerform maintenance, troubleshoot, and diagnose equipment malfunctions.\nAsset management.\nRepair, replace, and calibrate all process control equipment as necessary.\nRoutinely perform pumping facility checkouts, including entering data, replenishingchemical tanks, inspecting and maintaining pumping and treatment equipment, etc.\n\nWork with Chief Operator and laboratory to remain compliant with sampling program.\nCollection of compliance samples, labels bottles and transports to laboratory for analysis.\nMonitor all charts, gauges and other operating equipment as directed.\nEnsure water quality meets minimum requirements as established for plant being operated,including calculate chemical feed rate required, calibrating chemical feed equipment and\nadjusting chemical feed rate as indicated by lab tests or supervisor.\n\nMaintain good housekeeping procedures at the wells and treatment buildings.\nPerform routine housekeeping chores and special housekeeping as required.\nEnsure that pumping combinations are accomplished in the most economical manner or asdirected by the supervisor.\n\nComply with all organization safety procedures.\nAbility to work overtime if necessary.\nAbility to work a rotating after hours on call schedule.\n Education/Experience/Background:\nHigh School Diploma/GED is required.\n3-5 years of experience in Operations.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nComputer skills: MS Office Suite - Google Workspace preferred.\nKnowledge of applicable health and safety regulations, practices, procedures and water quality monitoring practices.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently.\nAbility to relate and interface with management and co workers.\nMust be able to work on call duties as needed.\nRequired Certification/Licenses/Training:\nMinimum Grade 1 Rhode Island Water Treatment Certification (T1).\nAbility to obtain a Grade 1 Rhode Island Distribution Operators Certification (D1) within one year of hire.\n Benefits: Veolia’s comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more.
