duties:\nAbout the RoleAre you passionate about creating great drinks and delivering memorable guest experiences?\nVeranda Tamarin is looking for a skilled, energetic and guest-focused Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team.\nAs a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages to our guests while ensuring excellent service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and contributing to the smooth operation of the bar.\n\nKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare and serve cocktails, beverages and snacks according to established hotel standards.\nWelcome guests warmly and provide attentive, efficient service.\nTake guest orders promptly and ensure proper follow-up.\nBe knowledgeable about all cocktail recipes and beverage offerings.\nPrepare the daily mise en place and ensure the bar is ready for service.\nPropose and promote the cocktail of the day and other bar products.\nIdentify upselling opportunities and promote bar items appropriately.\nInteract with guests to obtain feedback and suggestions.\nHandle guest complaints professionally and report them to the relevant supervisor.\nPresent guest bills and ensure they are properly signed or paid.\nAccurately post transactions into the relevant system.\nMonitor bar stock levels and prepare requisitions for timely replenishment.\nCheck daily requisitions and ensure adequate supplies are available.\nHandle bar equipment, glassware and materials carefully to minimise breakages.\nAssist with inventories and ensure stock is properly controlled.\nMaintain a clean and organised bar counter, furniture, fixtures and equipment.\nEnsure bottles are properly displayed and glasses are clean and polished.\nFollow all bar opening and closing procedures.\nAttend daily departmental briefings and comply with the assigned roster.\nMaintain the required grooming and personal presentation standards.\nParticipate in training and apply the knowledge gained.\nSupport and motivate colleagues when required.\nKeep the supervisor informed of any unusual matters or issues affecting the bar.\nEnsure responsible use of electricity, gas and water.\nComply with the hotel's sustainability commitments and practices.\n\nCandidate ProfileQualifications\nSchool Certificate (SC) or equivalent.\nProfessional training in Food & Beverage would be an advantage.\n\nExperience\nMinimum 2 years' work-related experience in Food & Beverage, preferably in a bar environment.\nPrevious hotel experience would be an advantage.\n\nSkills & Competencies\nGood knowledge of cocktails, beverages and bar service.\nStrong customer service and communication skills.\nFriendly, professional and outgoing personality.\nGood attention to detail and presentation.\nAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.\nGood teamwork and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to handle guest requests and complaints professionally.\nFluent in English and French.\nKnowledge of a third language would be an advantage.\nWillingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.\nCommitment to hygiene, cleanliness, safety and sustainability
