The internal technology environment needs to keep pace.\nWe're looking for a Head of IT to take ownership of Verda's internal IT function end-to-end, from identity and access management through to SaaS, devices, corporate infrastructure, vendors, controls, and the processes that keep the organisation operating securely.\nThis is a senior role with significant autonomy. We need someone who can build the IT to function in a rapidly scaling environment rather than simply operate an existing one. You'll work closely with Security, Compliance, and People, and you'll be expected to make sound technical and operational decisions without waiting for a playbook.\nWe're ambitious, curious, and pragmatic builders. We operate with low hierarchy, high ownership, and a strong bias for action.\n\nYour responsibilitiesIn this role, you will own and deliver Verda's internal IT strategy, operations and technology roadmap.\nYou will:\nOwn Verda's internal corporate IT strategy and operating model as Verda scales\n\nBuild and operate a secure, reliable, and scalable internal IT environment\n\nOwn identity and access management, device and endpoint management, and core SaaS systems\n\nAdvance and maintain IT policies, standards, controls, and operational processes\n\nOwn onboarding, offboarding, device lifecycle, and employee IT processes\n\nPartner closely with Security and Compliance on IT security controls and compliance requirements\n\nOwn remediation of IT-related risks and control gaps\n\nEstablish appropriate backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery processes for the corporate IT structure\n\nOwn the selection, implementation, and lifecycle management of critical IT systems\n\nManage IT vendors, contracts, procurement, and performance\n\nAct as the escalation point for complex IT incidents and failures\n\nEstablish repeatable processes and standards that can operate across a growing international organisation\n\nProvide technical recommendations and risk assessments to leadership\n\nContinuously evaluate Verda's internal technology stack and remove unnecessary complexity\n\nYour key competenciesDemonstrated ability to own an IT function or significant IT environment end-to-end\n\nDeep technical understanding of identity and access management, endpoint management, SaaS, networking, and IT infrastructure\n\nStrong understanding of IT security, access control, authentication, device security, and operational risk\n\nAbility to design and implement secure IT environments rather than simply operate existing ones\n\nStrong technical judgement and ability to make high-impact decisions independently\n\nStrong understanding of how IT controls support security and compliance requirements\n\nAbility to identify risks before they become incidents and drive remediation through to completion\n\nAbility to translate technical risks and trade-offs into clear business decisions\n\nStrong vendor management and commercial judgement\n\nAbility to balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational requirements\n\nStrong leadership and stakeholder management skills\n\nExperience supporting international or distributed organisations\n\nComfortable operating with incomplete information and making decisions quickly\n\nNice to haveExperience in building and operating an IT function in a rapidly scaling technology company\n\nExperience operating a cloud-first, SaaS-heavy environment\n\nStrong experience with IAM, SSO, MDM, and endpoint management\n\nExperience implementing IT controls within security or compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2\n\nExperience designing business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response processes\n\nExperience managing significant IT vendors and budgets\n\nExperience hiring and leading an IT team\n\nExperience working closely with Security and Compliance teams\n\nExperience in cloud infrastructure, data centers, or another technically complex environment\n\nPracticalitiesLocation: Helsinki, Finland or London, UK\n\nHybrid mode: Working 3 days a week from our Helsinki or London office\n\nEmployment type: Full-time and permanent\n\nWhat's nextWe're building fast and this role needs the right person behind it.
