This internship provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting environmental consulting projects through the use of geospatial technologies, data analytics, environmental research, and emerging digital tools. The selected candidate will work alongside multidisciplinary professionals and contribute to projects that support environmental investigations, remediation efforts, natural resource assessments, site selection studies, and regulatory decision-making.\nWhat You'll Do\nAssist with organizing, reviewing, and managing environmental and geospatial datasets\nSupport Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping, spatial analysis, and visualization efforts\nGeoreference and digitize historical maps, aerial imagery, and other environmental record\nPrepare maps, figures, dashboards, and technical graphics for reports and client deliverables\nAssist with environmental research, data collection, and interpretation of environmental information\nSupport web mapping applications, field data collection systems, and spatial databases\nAnalyze environmental and spatial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights\nCollaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, geologists, data analysts, and other technical professionals on project tasks\nAssist with technical reporting, data management, and project documentation\nExplore innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, automation, and advanced analytics tools to enhance workflows and environmental decision-making\nPerform other duties as assigned in support of project and business objectives\nWhat You'll Bring\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Data Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related field\nCoursework or experience related to GIS, geospatial technologies, environmental data analysis, or spatial statistics\nStrong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems\nInterest in environmental consulting, sustainability, and applying technology to environmental challenges\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment\nDemonstrated initiative, curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or similar platforms\nFamiliarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, R, SQL, or Arcade\nExperience with data analytics, dashboards, data visualization, or database management\nExposure to machine learning, artificial intelligence, automation tools, or generative AI technologies\nPrevious internship, research, or project experience related to environmental, geospatial, or data-focused work\nSalary Range:\n$21.00 - $22.00\nBenefits:\nFlexible Work Environment \n401(k) with Company Match \nVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
