At Verdantas, your career goes beyond the expected, and your work helps build a better world.\nReady to shape the future of resilient communities?\nVerdantas is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Staff I to support subsurface investigations, geotechnical inspections, and construction projects throughout the New York, New Jersey, and tri-state region. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on field and consulting experience.\nWhat You'll Do\nPerform soil sampling and subsurface investigations, including Standard Penetration Testing (SPT).\nClassify and document soil conditions and maintain accurate field records.\nSupport geotechnical special inspections, pile observations, and earthwork monitoring.\nPrepare boring logs, field reports, and project documentation.\nCollaborate with project managers, drilling crews, technicians, and engineering staff.\nAssist with technical reports, CAD drafting, and geotechnical data management.\nWhat You'll Bring\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.\n1-2 years of geotechnical or related field experience.\nKnowledge of soil sampling and classification methods.\nStrong communication and organizational skills.\nBasic experience with CAD and geotechnical software preferred.\nValid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.\nPreferred\nExperience with NYC DOB Special Inspections.\nFamiliarity with rock coring or RQD logging.\nFlexibility to work occasional nights, weekends, and extended field assignments.\nAbility to lift up to 40 pounds and work outdoors on active construction sites.\nWillingness to travel as project needs require.\nSalary Range:\nThe starting salary for this position is $70,000, with final compensation determined based on qualifications and licensing status.\nBenefits:\nFlexible Work Environment \nPaid Parental Leave \nMedical \nDental \nVision \nLife and AD&D Insurance \nShort-Term and Long-Term Disability \n401(k) with Company Match \nPaid Time Off + Holidays\nVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
