At Verdantas, your career goes beyond the expected, and your work helps build a better world.\nReady to shape the future of resilient communities?\nPosition Summary\nThe Field Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily field construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and company standards. This is a hands-on supervisory position that requires the ability to lead field crews while also operating construction equipment and assisting with field activities as needed.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nSupervise, coordinate, and provide daily direction to field crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators.\nPlan daily work activities, assign personnel and equipment, and coordinate material and equipment needs.\nSafely operate construction equipment as required, including skid steers, mini excavators, excavators, loaders, backhoes, compactors, and similar equipment.\nPerform hands-on construction activities when needed to support the crew and maintain production.\nReview project plans, specifications, scopes of work, and site conditions before and during construction.\nMonitor daily production and proactively identify issues that could affect safety, quality, schedule, or budget.\nConduct daily safety meetings, job hazard assessments, and site inspections and enforce company safety requirements.\nEnsure personnel properly use required PPE, tools, vehicles, and equipment.\nInspect equipment before use and coordinate routine maintenance or repairs when necessary.\nCoordinate equipment, materials, deliveries, and staffing to minimize downtime.\nMaintain accurate Daily Field Reports (DFRs), equipment logs, timesheets, material quantities, photographs, and other required project documentation.\nCommunicate field conditions, schedule impacts, change conditions, and resource needs to the Project Manager or Operations Manager.\nCommunicate professionally with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.\nTrain and mentor field employees in safe work practices, proper equipment operation, and construction procedures.\nMaintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites.\nTravel to project sites and work extended hours, weekends, or during inclement weather when project needs require.\nMinimum Qualifications\n5+ years of construction or related field experience required.\nPrevious experience operating construction equipment required.\nPrior experience serving as a Field Supervisor, Foreman, Lead Operator, Superintendent, or similar field leadership position preferred.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nValid driver's license and acceptable driving record.\nDemonstrated ability to safely operate heavy and compact construction equipment.\nStrong knowledge of construction site safety practices and hazard recognition.\nAbility to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, maps, and work plans.\nStrong leadership and crew-management skills.\nAbility to plan work, prioritize tasks, and coordinate multiple crews, equipment, and materials.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and electronic field reporting applications.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience with stormwater BMP installation and maintenance, erosion and sediment control, grading, excavation, drainage, and site restoration.\nExperience working around utilities and active construction sites.\nExperience coordinating construction crews across multiple simultaneous projects.\nOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training.\nFirst Aid/CPR certification.\nCompetent Person training applicable to excavation/trenching or other assigned activities.\nExperience towing and transporting construction equipment.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.\nAbility to regularly walk active construction sites and work around moving equipment.\nAbility to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds.\nAbility to climb, bend, kneel, reach, and perform physical construction activities.\nAbility to safely enter, exit, and operate construction equipment for extended periods.\nSalary Range:\n$103,125-$139,500\nBenefits:\nFlexible Work Environment \nPaid Parental Leave \nMedical \nDental \nVision \nLife and AD&D Insurance \nShort-Term and Long-Term Disability \n401(k) with Company Match \nPaid Time Off + Holidays\nVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
