This position can work remotely from anywhere in Maryland.\n As the Land Survey Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of land development and infrastructure projects by leading both office-based and field survey operations. From planning and managing diverse survey types, such as boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and drone mapping, to mentoring junior staff and ensuring regulatory compliance, you will bring technical expertise and strategic oversight to every phase of a project. You would take pride in ensuring you deliver high-quality services to clients, enjoy mentoring and helping emerging talent grow within the survey team, and uphold high professional standards for yourself and the team.\n Join our team, and your career will be amplified by a culture of empathy, innovation, and life balance, recognized by employees as the top firm to work for in 2025 by Zweig Group!\nWhat You'll Do:\nOffice Work:\nConduct and oversee diverse types of surveys, including Boundary, Topography, ALTA/NSPS, Construction Staking, Bathymetric, Drone, 3D Scanning, etc. \nPlan, coordinate, and manage survey projects to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets\nCommunicate with coworkers and clients to understand their overall needs, provide updates, and deliver high-quality service\nComplete Health and Safety Plan (HASP) prior to field crew performing site work\nPrepare, review, and interpret legal documents, including deeds, plats, and easements\nEnsure all survey activities comply with state and local regulations and standards. Uphold ethical and professional standards\nUtilize advanced surveying equipment and software to collect and analyze data, ensuring precision and accuracy. Keep up on the latest technology advancements, regulations, and emerging technologies in land surveying\nMentor and train junior surveyors and technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment\nField Work:\n Conduct on-site surveys using GPS, total stations, and other surveying instruments\n Collect accurate field data and ensure proper documentation\nMaintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure optimal performance\nAddress and resolve any issues encountered in the field\nWhat You Bring:\nHS Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a Surveying program preferred\nMust be eligible to obtain a PLS license in accordance with the Maryland Code within 6 months of hire; MD PLS license already obtained, preferred\nMinimum of 6 years' experience in professional surveying \nProficient in survey-related equipment, including but not limited to GPS, Robotic Total Stations, 3D Scanners, Drones, etc. \nProficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, and other survey-related software\nCurrent FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot’s License preferred\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment and lead by example\nCapable of managing multiple projects simultaneously\nWillingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains\nMust have a valid driver's license\nSalary Range:\nThe compensation range starts at $80, 000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensures.\nBenefits:\nFlexible Work Environment \nPaid Parental Leave \nMedical \nDental \nVision \nLife and AD&D Insurance \nShort-Term and Long-Term Disability \n401(k) with Company Match \nPaid Time Off + Holidays\nVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
