You will be responsible for utilizing accepted practices and standards to ensure that all designs meet the highest level of quality and safety. This is an on-site supervisory role with direct reports, including engineers and designers. You must be local to our Grand Rapids, MI, or Fort Worth, TX office.\nWhat You'll Do:\nDevelop project plans, including project scope of work and WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for complex multi-discipline substation Engineering projects and EPC projects\nManage Substation project execution, including project scope, schedule, budget, and project resources, including external vendors, consultants, and contractors\nEffectively track and stabilize projects, implement solutions to obstacles, and ensure client goals are achieved\nCommunication and Systems Studies Engineer focus\nAttend client meetings and communicate concerns and changes with the client to ensure a positive relationship and growth opportunities\nPrepare and review preliminary designs \nPrepare proposals, including budgetary estimates\nLead the development of plans, specifications, studies, estimates, material lists, and other deliverables\nEnsure team adherence to QA/QC program\nDevelop new or modify existing:\nElectrical layout/plan of substation equipment and structures\nSubstation foundation layout/plan drawings\nSection/elevation views from layout/plan drawings\nConduit layout/plan drawings\nSubstation grounding layout/plan drawings\nControl building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings\nLead, mentor, and help grow a team of engineers and designers:\nManage day-to-day activities for your team\nSet goals and expectations for each team member\nAssist in annual performance reviews\nAssist in recruiting efforts - posting job requisitions and participating in interviews\nWhat You'll Bring:\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering\n8+ years of direct substation physical and electrical engineering experience\nProfessional Engineering license in MI or the ability to obtain licensure within 3 months\nSolid understanding and ability to use design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD\nUnderstands relay settings and SCADA, DFR, RTU architecture and is able to lead substation upgrade projects with staff\nProficient with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel, which are frequently used to develop project deliverables\nStrong communication skills with customer presentations and technical knowledge of risks and concerns\nAbility to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs including Milsoft, ETAP, and SKM\nAbility to work in a team environment with others including, but not limited to, Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and drafters in multi-discipline groups\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong attention to detail and work product quality\nSalary Range:\nAt Verdantas, we offer comprehensive benefits packages for our employees.
