### About the company
Vereign is a vendor and producer of business applications built on top of Decentralized Key Management (DKMS) and Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI). Our solutions re-define digital trust and data ecosystems. Our Secure Edge Application Layer (SEAL) technology is being used by Secure Edge Mail in Switzerland where we secure half a million interactions each month for the Swiss healthcare system, allowing doctors and others to securely communicate with patients on unsecured edge devices. Combining end-to-end encryption, verified identity, and edge delivery, this solution is ideal for sensitive communication in sectors like healthcare, legal, finance, and government. Vereign is also a member of the European Health Data Association (EHDA) as well as a founding member of the DKMS Alliance, focusing on decentralized key management technologies and interoperability at scale, ensuring security, privacy, and authenticity are built in from the start.
### Role
You’ll bridge the gap between mail-server fundamentals and modern container-native operations. Day-to-day this means onboarding new customer deployments, integrating Verimesh with existing mailbox/groupware backends (Exchange, Mail-in-a-Box, Postfix/Dovecot, etc.), diagnosing real-world delivery problems, and feeding lessons learned back into our deployment scripts, Helm charts and documentation.
With the rapid expansion of our Bulgarian office, we are looking for а highly-motivated person to join our DevOps team.
To keep it short, here are some key responsibilities
### Responsibilities
• Deploy and maintain Verimesh instances at customer sites (Docker Compose, Helm/k8s, OpenShift, VM images)
• Integrate with customer mail backends: Exchange/Office 365 connectors, Postfix relays, Dovecot, MIAB, smarthosts
• Configure DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, PTR), TLS and S/MIME certificate flows
• Diagnose SMTP delivery problems end-to-end: queue analysis, header tracing, content filters, greylisting, mail loops, NAT/firewall issues
• Operate and troubleshoot secure tunnels between gateways
• Improve installation/onboarding scripts, Compose files and Helm charts
• Set up monitoring, log shipping (Promtail/Loki) and alerting for customer instances
• Write and maintain customer-facing and internal documentation
• Provide support for customers and integrators
### Required
• Solid Linux administration (systemd, networking, iptables/nftables, DNS, TLS)
• Deep working knowledge of SMTP and mail internals: Postfix configuration, transport maps, content filters, header rewriting, queue management, greylisting, SPF/DKIM/DMARC
• S/MIME (X.509 certs, signing, encryption, key management) – or willingness to ramp up fast
• Docker and Docker Compose in production
• Kubernetes (Helm, manifests, troubleshooting workloads); OpenShift exposure a plus
• Comfort on the command line, shell scripting (bash), reading logs and tcpdumps
• Git-based workflows (GitLab/GitHub)
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical customers in writing
### Nice to have
• Microsoft Exchange / Exchange Online (connectors, hybrid, send/receive connectors, transport rules)
• WireGuard or other VPN/overlay networks
• HashiCorp Vault, MinIO/S3, PostgreSQL ops
• Prometheus/Grafana/Loki
• IaC (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines
• German and/or French (most customers are CH-based)
### What you’ll work with
Postfix, Dovecot, OpenSSL, S/MIME, WireGuard, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, Helm, OpenShift, HashiCorp Vault, MinIO, PostgreSQL, OPA/Rego policies, Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, GitLab CI.
