This role plays a critical part in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance with wage and labor laws, and seamless coordination between sales, operations, and accounting. This individual must be highly detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where payroll includes a mix of commissions, piece-rate production pay, and incentive compensation.\nEssential Functions:\nCommission and Incentive Compensation Processing\nCalculate and audit weekly commissions across multiple complex commission plans.\nValidate source data from the CRM and operational systems to ensure eligibility for payout and document disqualifications or hindrances to payouts based on company policy.\nApply compensation plan rules accurately, including, but not limited to, quotas, tiers, splits, and clawbacks.\nResearch and document job-specific circumstances impacting commissions.\nPrepare detailed commission statements for employees, sales leadership, and finance.\nMaintain plan documentation, calculation models, and audit trails to support internal controls and audits.\nPartner with IT Administrators regarding system build-out of commissions calculations and reporting.\nCalculate and review non-commission incentive programs including, but not limited to:\nSales volume bonuses\nSales overrides\nOperations installation bonuses\nRevenue-based and/or margin-based incentive programs\n\nIdentify errors, exceptions, and process gaps, and recommend improvements or automation.\nSupport onboarding of new comp plans and plan changes.\n\nWeekly Payroll Processing\nProcess weekly payroll for field labor teams paid on a piece-rate basis.\nEnsure accurate reporting of hours worked to meet minimum wage compliance requirements.\nReview and reconcile job production reports prior to payroll submission.\nReview hourly employees’ hours to ensure reasonableness and timely reporting.\nEnsure appropriate payment of stipends and allowances.\nAudit payroll reports for errors, missing information, or discrepancies.\nCoordinate with managers to resolve potential payroll issues or outliers.\n\nPayroll Compliance\nEnsure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local wage laws.\nMonitor compliance for piece-rate compensation requirements.\nMaintain proper documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.\nReporting & Reconciliation\nPrepare payroll reports for leadership and finance.\nReconcile payroll totals, commissions, and deductions.\nAssist with month-end and year-end payroll reporting.\nBenefits & Payroll Deduction Auditing\nReconcile benefits deductions each payroll cycle, ensuring employee contributions match benefit\nenrollment records, including medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA, and 401(k) to ensure accuracy.\nReview new hire enrollments, life event changes, and terminations to confirm proper deduction\nsetup.\nCoordinate with HR and benefits providers to resolve discrepancies.\nAssist with monthly benefits invoice reconciliation to ensure carrier billing aligns with payroll\ndeductions.\nSupport compliance with benefits-related payroll reporting requirements.\nEmployee Support\nServe as the primary point of contact for employee commission and payroll inquiries.\nInvestigate and resolve commission questions and payroll discrepancies promptly with clear\ndocumentation.\nProvide employees with clear explanations of commission calculations, payroll calculations,\ncompensation structures, deductions, and pay statements.\nSupport onboarding documentation related to payroll and tax forms (W-4, direct deposit, etc.)\nQualifications:\nTo effectively perform the duties for this position, individuals must be able to demonstrate competencies that are essential to the position, which include:\n3+ years of payroll processing experience\nExperience processing weekly payroll\nExperience with commission-based compensation\nStrong understanding of payroll compliance and wage laws\nHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills\nExperience with payroll software (Rippling, ADP, etc.)\nAdvanced Excel or spreadsheet skills\nBackground in construction, home services, or field labor environments is a plus\nMulti-state payroll experience is a plus\nKnowledge of commission reconciliation processes\nAbility to work a hybrid schedule from our Dallas corporate office\n\nPhysical Requirements/Work Environment:\nProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nOccasional lifting of office supplies or job folders (up to 20
