This role plays a critical part in maintaining payroll compliance, supporting operational excellence, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a seamless employee experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nThe Payroll Operations\nManage and execute end-to-end payroll processes for India and multiple APAC countries, including monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll cycles.\nEnsure compliance with country-specific payroll regulations, statutory requirements, tax laws, and reporting obligations across jurisdictions.\nMaintain and update payroll master data, including employee onboarding, offboarding, and employment changes.\nProcess payroll inputs accurately, including earnings, deductions, allowances, bonuses, leave adjustments, and other variable compensation elements.A\nAdminister employee stock option plan (ESOP) reporting and support payroll processing for international assignees, including expatriate shadow payroll.\nPrepare and submit payroll-related reports for government agencies, tax authorities, pension schemes, and finance teams.\nGenerate monthly General Ledger (GL) reports and support payroll reconciliations and accounting activities.\nEnsure timely processing and filing of statutory contributions and deductions, including Income Tax, Provident Fund (PF), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), and other regulatory requirements.\nManage investment declarations, proof verification, e-TDS filings, and employee queries related to payroll and benefits.\nHandle payroll system interfaces, including file imports, exports, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.\nSupport annual compensation activities, including bonus payouts, salary reviews, and merit cycles.\nCompliance and Controls\nMaintain strong financial and operational controls, including SOX compliance and country-specific governance requirements.\nEnsure payroll processes adhere to internal policies, external regulations, and audit standards.\nMonitor payroll accuracy and implement corrective actions when required.\nVendor Management\nAct as the primary liaison for outsourced payroll vendors and service providers.\nManage vendor performance through KPI tracking, SLA reviews, issue escalation, and regular service governance meetings.\nSupport payroll vendor transition and implementation projects where applicable.\nEmployee Support and Continuous Improvement\nRespond to employee payroll inquiries through ServiceNow and other support channels, ensuring a high level of customer service.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.\nIdentify process automation opportunities and implement employee-centric payroll solutions.\nStakeholder & Vendor Management\nBuild strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide payroll-related guidance and support.\nCommunicate process updates, policy changes, and payroll enhancements effectively across the organization.\nCollaborate with HR, Finance, Tax, and external service providers to ensure seamless payroll operations.\nFacilitate stakeholder governance meetings to maintain transparency, alignment, and service excellence.\nRequired Experience and Skills\nEducation: MBA in Finance; or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline\n8-10 years of payroll experience, including multi-country APAC payroll operations and payroll systems expertise.\nStrong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory compliance, tax regulations, and payroll administration processes.\nExperience managing expatriate and international assignee payroll, including shadow payroll.\nProficiency in Workday, ServiceNow, and payroll vendor management, including payroll transformation or transition projects.\nStrong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience in Shared Services environments and a focus on customer service, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.\nPreferred Qualification\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nExperience supporting organizational change management and user adoption initiatives.\nProven ability to collaborate with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.\nFamiliarity with payroll process optimization and automation initiatives.\nOur commitment\nVerifone is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
