This role is essential to ensuring accurate First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation, dimensional validation, and compliance with engineering and quality standards.\nThis position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, precision measurement, and structured digital data entry - and who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.\nWhat You’ll Do\nFAI Data Fill (≈50% of the Role)\nPerform onsite FAI data entry, validation, and configuration.\nEnsure accuracy, completeness, and traceability of all inspection characteristics.\nCross-check FAI entries against engineering drawings, method sheets, and inspection setups.\nResolve missing or conflicting data by working with Quality and Engineering teams.\nSupport FAI documentation and production verification activities.\nMylar Inspection Setup\nPerform mylar-based inspection setups per customer requirements.\nLay out mylar on magnetic surface plates, ensuring no distortion or unevenness.\nIdentify inspection points using engineering drawings and inspection data blocks.\nInstall and position stanchions, yokes, extensions, and fixtures at defined locations.\nSet stanchion heights using calibrated height gages; establish yoke angles using miracle point, protractor, or digital angle finder.\nApply half-tolerance logic, calculate shim requirements, and adjust setups for proper alignment.\nQuality & Documentation Support\nEnsure all setup points are captured and aligned with inspection geometry.\nSupport validation activities with Quality Technicians and Delegates.\nDocument setup completion and communicate inspection readiness.\nAssist with Characteristic Accountability Forms and other FAI documentation.\nSafety & Equipment Care\nFollow all PPE and safety protocols.\nHandle metal components and precision tooling carefully.\nMaintain clean, debris-free surface plates and properly store all fixtures.\nWhat You Bring\nExperience with inspection setups, precision measurement tools, or aerospace manufacturing.\nAbility to read engineering drawings, inspection data blocks, and method sheets.\nStrong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.\nBasic understanding of geometric tolerancing (GD&T).\nAbility to learn and execute eCAV workflows accurately.\nStrong communication skills and ability to work with Quality and Engineering teams.\nPreferred Experience\nMylar or tube inspection setup experience.\nFamiliarity with FAI processes and aerospace quality standards.\nExperience with height gages, angle measurement tools, and surface plates.\nKnowledge of calibration control and gage management.\nWhy Join Us?\nWork onsite with a high-impact aerospace quality team.\nContribute directly to FAA/DOD compliance and FAI recovery initiatives.\nGain hands-on experience with both digital inspection systems and physical inspection setups.\nBe part of a structured, well-supported project with clear workflows and training.\n“We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, political affiliation, marital status, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
