As the Technical Lead for the User and Accounts Management Team, you will shape and deliver the access and control layers of Workbench-enabling scientists and researchers to work safely with sensitive health data. This role directly contributes to Verily’s mission to bring the promise of precision health to everyone, every day.\nQualified applicants must not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in Canada.\nResponsibilities\nLead the design, development, and maintenance of secure user and account management systems within Workbench.\n\nCollaborate closely with Product Management and cross-functional engineering teams to define and deliver high-impact features.\n\nDevelop scalable backend services and user interfaces using Go, Java, React, TypeScript, and Terraform.\n\nDrive technical discussions, mentor engineers, and contribute to system architecture decisions.\n\nIdentify and implement improvements in reliability, performance, and user experience.\n\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications\n5+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend software engineer in an industry setting.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nStrong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional environments.\n\nDemonstrated ability to work independently and produce clear, structured technical documentation.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nDemonstrated expertise in Golang and building scalable backend systems or APIs.\n\nProven leadership experience in technical direction, mentoring, and system design.\n\nFamiliarity with React and TypeScript.\n\nCloud computing expertise (Google Cloud Platform or AWS).\n\nPassion for developing tools that empower scientists in computational biology and genomics research.\n\nThe Canada base salary range for this full-time position is CAD $146,500.00 - $164,500.00+ bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
